Fans of driving at death-defying speeds while triggering/evading massive amounts of catastrophic destruction will be pleased to know that the demo for Black Rock Studio’s mental arcade racer Split/Second is now available exclusively on Xbox Live.
The demo features the Airport Terminal level, which you will recognize if you’ve seen any trailers for the game. The level has two ridiculous triggered events: The air traffic control tower collapse and bringing down a cargo plane. If those sound kind of insane, that’s because they are.
PlayStation 3 owners will be able to check out the demo when it hits the PlayStation Network on May 11.
Anyone played the demo yet? Impressions? (assuming your mind hasn’t been blown to the point of incomprehension)
Should the need arise, feel free to E-Mail me your tips, suggestions, and/or personal philosophies, or follow me on Twitter.

Been playing it for an hour now. Great fun. Pretty easy, hopefully for racing vets there will be a variable difficulty. But even with the single track the racing is never boring.

They don't care about PC gamers so no there will probably be no demo for us. Also we don't get Super Street Fighter 4 even tho Street Fighter 4 came out for the PC.

Its fun, but without a multiplayer demo like Blur and with only one map, it feels a little lackluster, especially since the AI seems to have very poor aim compared to a human player. I found myself being wrecked far more often by debris left on the track by my own attacks rather than anything my AI opponents attempted.

Why do PS3 owners have to wait for the demo? Any reason or did Microsoft shovel a bunch of money for an exclusive demo? By the way the game looks awesome

The demo is great. Even though you are only racing the same map no match is ever the same. I've had a matched with 3 plus route changes, a short cut, and on my final lap an Airplane came crashing down right in front of me but luckily I got out of the way at the last second.

It's ok. Nothing compared to the Burnout series. Maybe if this were combined with a Burnout game. That might be cool.

Downloading as I type and looking forward to comparing it to blur to possibly sway my decision on which one to get or just go ahead and get both. Pre-ordered both because I couldn't decide.
