What One Former Infinity Ward Employee Thinks Of Ex-CEO Vince Zampella

UPDATE 4/24 2:14 PM: Late in the night, I received word of another Infinity Ward departure. A source close to the studio relayed word that level designer Keith Bell updated his Facebook profile with news that he's left Infinity Ward.

It's currently unknown where Bell will head to next.

Including this latest update, a total of eight employees left Infinity Ward on Friday.

ORIGINAL STORY: Even though it's already been reported today that five employees turned in letters of resignation at Infinity Ward, there's more to be counted. Two more at Infinity Ward have called it quits at the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare studio, bringing the count for today alone at seven.

Designer Charlie Wiederhold and level designer Preston Glenn have both left the company, a source close to Infinty Ward has informed me. Their future plans are currently unknown.

Several former members of Infinity Ward, however, have decided to join Respawn Entertainment, the new company from ex-Infinity Ward leaders Jason West and Vince Zampella.

I'm glad they're not letting Activision take advantage of them anymore. Hopefully they'll all go to Respawn, or somewhere where they can focus on the quality of their product rather than rely on brand names to be a cash cow for their publisher.

I have no idea why you people are so for IW and RE and blaim Activision.

Remember how they scammed EA with Medal of Honour?
Take a guess where they got the improved Q3 engine for the first Call of Duty?

They wanted to do the same thing here.
Whole 'Respawn Ent' was planned, as a way to kick Activision off the money, but somehow it got out.

And you think conspirators that was on the plan will stay at IW, when they were revealed?

Burn those rats running away, Activision!

I haven't seen such a loyalty exodus since tons of the senior Capcom staff left after Capcom closed Clover Studios. Those employees seem to be doing well at Platinum Games, so I have high hopes Respawn will give us some quality products in a couple years.

UPDATE 4/25 11:50 AM: Upon news of the last of Infinity Wards employees moving to Respawn Entertainment, Bobby Kotick died from an aneurysm.

Trusted sources say his blood pressure spiked to alarming levels once he learned he will never be able to pay off all the debt accumulated from making Guitar Hero peripherals.

I understand bad things like this "prob" happen, however when its all said and done I just hope others will learn from this mistake. I sure would hate to lose such an impressive* FPS like MW2.

    Modern Warfare 3

price and soap have no where to go. They go to Makarov (hope i spelt that right) and ask to use a shuttle to get to the moon. You have to defend the ship and then see then get attacked by the "evil empire" in space. Finally it turns out to be the prequel to Mass Effect. SPACE MARINES BITCHES!

I'm sure Activision will crank out overpriced DLC for the rest of the MW story: it'll be 15 minutes long, cost 2800 MSP and it'll all be a dream with Soap waking up in the shower dreaming he shot J.R.

These news updates should be changed to show a ratio of "employees leaving" to "employees that remain". I love how we can get this info so fast, but all it is just a bunch of small numbers flying around. Of course it is vital to know that the staff is bleeding "two here" and "one there", but I want a peak at the overall statistics.

Instead of publicizing every time an Infinity Ward employee leaves for Respawn Entertainment, how about we just accept that (at this rate) in a few months, IW will be no more and Respawn will be completely full of Infinity Ward's former employees.

Wow that really sucks. Activision is like the biggest bunch of douchebags EVER! I really hope Respawn is a great working company. Hopefully more then 1/2 of IW employees go to Respawn.

why won't activision just that get rid of infinity ward and give the zampella and west ownership of mw. with all of those employees leaving they won't have a company soon. majority of all the people leaving will eventually go to respawn entertainment i awesome and make a much better franchise or improve on the mw franchise being as that they have creative freedom to do what they want and also that fact that ea has way more resources than activision and ea is a way better company than activision anyway

I don't think activision understands that they can't do whatever they want. Activision forgot that they are owned by the shareholders and people forget that to fire bobby kocklick all they need to do is buy a few share of activision and fire him.
