As news of more and more former Infinity Ward developers popping up over at Respawn Entertainment continues (not to mention the entire hoopla surrounding the whole ordeal), it’s clear that Activision is facing one of the most challenging periods in its history. Reader bunnyglomp puts it all in perspective:
“Wow. What a turnaround for Activision. Last year, the merger between Activision and Vivendi was feared because it would dethrone EA as market leader and become a powerhouse that was unstoppable. Now look at them. They lost IW, may even lose the MW title, tony hawks series is dead, They haven’t had a good Spider-Man game in years, they lost ID software. All they have left is poor ol blizzard. Talk about epic failure.”
It’s definitely been a fascinating year so far for Activision, and things will only get more so over the coming months and years. What do you think of where Activision has been and where it is headed?
