Copyright-sniffing website Superannuation has revealed that Ubisoft has registered a domain name that suggests an upcoming Assassin's Creed game will be called Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. They've also registered "Driversanfranciscogame.com," indicating the next Driver game will be set in San Francisco. Both address currently point to nothing but parked URLs.
It's not too far of a stretch to imagine the "Brotherhood" tag for Assassin's Creed suggests a strong, online co-cop mode, and if you can think of a better city for driving around in than San Francisco, I'd love to hear it.
Like all copyright and domain name registration, this could be meaningless, too. Maybe Ubi just wants to reserve the names of sites they're not going to use so that no one else can take them, or maybe there's some other explanation entirely.

yea more than likely it is a hand-held game version of the second game like they did with the first....

Jeespot is right on the money. that would be a terrible title for a main game anyways.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood sounds like a PSP title to me. No way its an MMO, probably not DLC otherwise we'd know about it by now, probably not a sequel, it is waaayyy to soon to even have a title for one right now let alone development plans. So my guess is either an iPhone game or PSP game.

'Assassin's Creed Brotherhood'... anyone else think that it kinda sounds like an MMO?

I could understand people having reservations about Ubi shoehorning Co-Op into Assassin's Creed if it was a main entry of the franchise (IE AC III), but haven't they hinted that this is kind of a side story? Maybe its a standalone campaign within AC III, a la Conviction...I think Conviction points to a lot of things that may happen in ACIII...for instance, perhaps Mark and Execute is partially Ubi trying to figure out how to make AC work in a world with guns, what with Desmond finally coming into his own. I mean, the whole uber head shot ability makes a bit more sense in AC than Splinter Cell, anyway.

blackbear49- last time I heard the storyline for ACIII was taking place pretty much where the second left us where we are part of the brotherhood and will be in Rome I believe

I imagine it could be like a co-op type of thing where you and your friend run around the city as assassins, or it could be like red dead redemption and you make a posse with your friends.

i heard the next assassin's creed might take place in a WW2 setting. is this true?

I'm not entirely sold on Assassin's Creed having multiplayer. I just don't see how it could work. There are some games where co-op and multiplayer make sense, I don't think AC is one of those titles. I don't like how gaming these days has come down to having to include multiplayer. I'd rather have that money go toward the development of the single player campaign than to a team that makes tacked on multiplayer that doesn't fit. I don't need that extra bullet point on the back of the box.

is that a typo i see
