Remember last week when Ubisoft announced they would be releasing free, weekly downloadable content for Splinter Cell: Conviction every Thursday? Well, as you might know, today is Thursday, and as such, here is your first shiny new in-game item: the proximity mine.
Proximity mines are great, but a proximity mine in the shape of a cat? Now that would be something special. Not sure what the cat in the picture is doing, but it isn’t being used the right way as far as I’m concerned.

if you look at the trailer you can clearly see the famas being used, and yet its not in the game. so I would imagine that we will be seing that as one of the upcoming dlc's as well

Not to be a party pooper, but this 'free' DLC is just stuff that is already on disc that they are merely unlocking.

Have you played face-off yet? Explosives are great ways to rake up player kills. A proximity mine will be great in the right hands.
I'd like to see new P.E.C skills released in association with the weekly free weapon DLC

I'm hoping they release some new maps/ missions for coop. or even story mode. That would be cool.

Lazy DLC....its the same thing as the other mine except you dont detonate it. i dont know why anyone would even use this in a STEALTH game

the only problem is that i do not know how to find it. I went online within my 360 and i didnt see this download neither i see it under xbox.com, so how can i get this free items?

I think I may have a little too much fun with these mines. I love screwing with the idiot guards as much as I can. This will give me another fun tool to do so.

um...proximity mines? dont get me wrong. all through the campaign I wished the mines were proximity and didn't need a detonator but we need a little more than simply mines. But I suppose free is better than nothing.

LIES!!!! This is the second free Splinter Cell: Conviction DLC. Last week they released that machine pistol.

Actually this is the second free DLC for this game. The first was the MP7A1 Machine Pistol was the first free DLC which was released last Tuesday.
