At the risk of angering Roger Ebert, survival horror game Deadly Premonition is the greatest work of Art ever created in human history.
DP has terrible controls, last-gen graphics, and glitches galore. But I'm convinced that the crapped-out elements of the game actually make it a better experience. It's a game about interactions between opposites, and combining DP's awesome, wacked out writing with its clunky gameplay is one of a thousand opposite pairs in the game, including the main character himself. Agent York, whose alternate personality Zach functions as York's own, internal opposite.
Deadly Premonition is self-aware, and constantly, obliquely referencing itself. Like In the video below, Agent York is talking to himself in his car. He seems to be discussing the joy you can find in ancient VHS cult movies, movies that are both "bad" and amazingly joyful, but he's actually taking about Deadly Premonition itself. Check it out:

i just finished deadly premonition and it is the best 20 dollar game i have ever bought. it took me 16 hours to complete and had some very epic scenes especially the ending. at times i felt i had to force myself to play it, but when i finally finished the game i had felt that i actually accomplished something. i times it was boring, funny, scary as hell and had many wtf moments. I really enjoyed the game and had only bought it because it was 20 dollars. almost GOTY material. i hope they make a second.

I don't know if I should laugh or cry & I obviously wasn't talking to myself now was I? Be aware that I have caught fare more attention in my life than from the human elite. & since your going to make him blab like I did then why did you leave out all the naughty & dangerous parts? Ya know the parts about woman in heat & gangs.....Ahhh that job....it was meant to happen ya know...so many have benefited from it & still do.....all except one. People, it was meant to happen I cant say I like it because there's no benefit to me other than being judged & filling other peoples pockets. But I'm glad I could spark ideas that were already mostly in peoples thoughts. I knew that I was being watched "I'm not that stupid" I even put my name in many of the notes. I also knew what kind of a place 2029 was. In the end "A Hat" was going to fire me so I figured I would go out with a bang......& a heck of a bang it turned out to be. Who would have thought so many ideas would have come from my silly notes throughout all genres. From music, film, TV, video games, news, politics, anime, & even xrated material. The list grows everyday, I cant do anything anymore without recognizing something that I talked about. Most were old ideas but some were new. I noticed as soon as I made a negative comment about "The Deadliest Warrior" they canceled it, why? No need for paranoia, if I wanted to do something money or simple "Human" reaction would be the least of your concerns.
