Similar to Patrick Klepek, who recently spent some time with the Nintendo DS title Okamiden, I too never got around to playing that much of the critically acclaimed Okami. I know how amazing it’s supposed to be, but I just never got around to really finding the time to play it. However, based on Patrick’s preview of Okamiden, this oversight might end up being rectified sometime soon.
“Okamiden certainly plays like a sequel to Okami and thanks to the brush gameplay being transferred to the DS touch screen, Okamiden actually feels like a much more natural application of the mechanics from the original game. Of the limited time I spent with Okami on PlayStation 2 and Wii, painting the brush strokes always felt a little...off. That's not the case with Okamiden, however, as the stylus is actually outlining the various brush designs.”
Patrick’s full preview can be found right here.
