World of Warcraft Celestial SteedThe Blizzard Pet Store -- Azeroth's version of the SkyMall catalog -- has updated today with something that you don't really need, but it would sure be nice to have attached to your World of Warcraft account: the Celestial Steed flying mount. For a mere $25, the Celestial Steed can be your luxurious transport through the fantastically dangerous and dangerously fantastic areas of Outland and Northrend, and when the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion launches later this [BLIZZARD TIME], you'll be able to view the carnage rendered upon Old Azeroth from up on high (as you might already know, flying mounts in Kalimdor & Eastern Kingdoms is going to be possible).

The Celestial Steed is also capable of 310% movement speed, should you be one of the lucky few players who already have an "Ultra-Rare Flying Mount" in your stable. Otherwise, his speed is scaled in accordance with your riding skill.

I've been WoW-free for almost a year now, but will likely be reactivating my account when Deathwing awakens so I can check out all the changes to my old, sub-50 level stomping grounds. Anyone else starting to feel that renewal itch?

Like Blizzard needs more money, sheesh! Seriously, epic mounts are getting less "epic" all the time. Eventually I can just drop a wad of cash in the Blizz Store and get my epic mount, epic geared, level 85 whatever. What's really sad is that is this trivializes anyone who legitimately worked on getting a unique epic mount. It's really nice you did all the seasonal quests to get that purple drake, but all I had to do was flash my Visa. Sad....

I also wonder if the fact that WoW has stagnated if they are now trying to find ways to squeeze more money from what subscribers they do have. Course, 11.5 million subs is STILL a nice chunk of income no matter how you look at it.

Hey OP, you got the Blizzard trademark wrong:

    Everything comes out Soon(TM).

    Alternative(which aren't trademarked) is "When it's ready".

I might pick it up again when cataclysm comes out but I doubt it. WoW isn't what it used to be and I can't stand the elitist anymore.

Hmmm Blizz offering an ingame item for real life cash, this is the second time they've done this. Am I the only one that remembers them giving us there word that they would never do this? I know I'm not and I know I'm not the only one that is mad.

When a company goes back on there word like this you can never take there word again. Just what else do they plan to take there word back on? This is really bad people.

Yeah I'm feeling it for sure. It's weird too because it'll be something completely unrelated to WoW, and somehow my mind will 6 degrees itself into thinking something WoW related. I don't know why, I wasn't a hardcore player, hell I didn't have a character past 25.

I guess it just goes to show you what Blizzard can do to my fragile little mind, but regardless once Cataclysm hits, I'll be back.

I recently was given 7 free days from Blizzard to play WoW, and I must say it is tempting to return to Azeroth, but I don't think I have enough time to invest in WoW for $15 a month along with the many other games for PS3 and Xbox 360, that I have to play.

It would be nice to get my Level 36 character up to 80 someday...

Renewal itch?, I've been happily playing since 2 months after vanilla release and loving everyday of it (minus the days spent getting ganked on my lvl 30s alts in gankerthorn vale)
