Xbox Live: In Memoriam

Microsoft plans to pull the plug on the original Xbox Live service at some point today, but already we can't help but miss our good friend.  Back when we were young, it taught us how to play socially with others yet allowed us creative freedom to sound like robots when we wanted to verbally assault someone in-game with impunity.

You were good to us Xbox Live, so today, we'll take the time to remember you:

I went to sleep last night thinking I would never see it again and I awoke this morning to find that It was still running. I was surprised to say the least.

I believe i heard someone mention that it is going down 12:00 Pm PST so in 45 minutes. Hell, im gonna play Halo 2 until it kicks me off.

You can still play the original XBox games in single player or system link mode, you just won't be able to play them over the internet via XBL. Just wanted to clarify any confusion.

Is today the last day or was that yesterday? The point is future gamer won't have a chance to play some milestones in the game industry

Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow!!!!! Man, I LOVED playing that game online. Nothing was better than being the spy, crawling around with ya' damn cloaking device on, snappin' some necks...those were the good ole' days. I miss the original Splinter Cell; the stealthy, hand-quivering action that once was has been replaced by some dumbed down modern day bull. What a crying shame.

so they are finally stopping support for original X-Box Live? Any idea when they'll update the archaic friends list limit?

As of today at 1:00 pm Eastern time Halo 2 on XBL is still up and running. I'm not sure what to make of it other then just simply playing some more Halo 2 while it's still online.
