The big news of the day is obviously the reveal and trailer for Gears of War 3. And to many, the biggest news is the game's inclusion of a playable female character in the formerly dude-only Gears-O-Verse. Gamers will be able to play as Anya, a decision that readers of our site were very positive about, but reader Mystyr_E asks:
oh lord, I'm all for playing as female soldiers but the ability to chop players in half...anyone anticipating an outcry from the female persuasion of violence against women?
All the girl gamers I know are psyched at the prospect of having their gender chainsawing dudes apart in Gears. But on the other hand, I could see an outcry from some of the "usual suspects," those professional societal worriers who've made a profession of appearing on cable news network to wring their hands and say "What about the children?"
