Gears of War 3, the game everyone already expected designer Cliff Bleszinski would announce on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, is now official. The first trailer, titled "Ashes to Ashes," premiered on the show, as well. Gears of War 3 arrives April 2011. You can find the full interview over at Jimmy Fallon's site.

I think I will finally go back and finish GW2 now. I've loved the games, but somehow got away from finishing the second one for some reason.

The female gear might be Anya because she was training to be a gear in the last book. Plus the overhaul of Baird, Cole, and Dom look right with how the story was heading. Can't wait to see what happens.

The blond might be Anya because in the last book she starts training to be a gear. The beard and the half armor make sense because they are down to scrounging for gear. Looks cool definitely looking forward to the story continuation.

You know I think all Gears game commercials had a nice song to it. Remeber in gears 2 it had last day and the first one i thought was the best...madworld

Oh wow, this looks really good. Not from a gameplay perspective, but the atmosphere and tone. I think the human survival struggle might finally be realized and taken more serious. They tried in Gears2 with the Miranda thing, gut didn t really pay off. But now it seems like some time has passed, the characters look more war torn, human ashes littered through the city, Dome doesn t care if he lives or dies. Seem like a much more human/believable take on the series. And hopefully the Lambet bring the horror aspect back.

Marcus looks cool with a full beard. I'm glad we are finally going to see females, I just hope that there are more than one.
Also, was that Bird? I'm pretty sure that ain't Cole. If it is, he has definitely undertake the biggest aesthetic changes.
But I do appreciate the slight design touches, just enough to makes us feel like it's something fresh--at least visually.
I reminds me of how Bungie kept changing or evolving Master Chief's design/look, slightly but noticeably enough.

oh lord, I'm all for playing as female soldiers but the ability to chop players in half...anyone anticipating an outcry from the female persuasion of violence against women?

It works now and it looks pretty tight, pretty standard announcement trailer where they kinda have a artistic music playing some guns.
But I am glad to see new bad guys.

Gears always has badass trailers...I still have the words to Rendezvous written on the inside of my front door, I look at them every morning before I step out.
I Think their writing and story department suck but damn, they make a good trailer.

I saw it but I already knew it was going to be Gears of War 3 and in the past week or so i been reading about the game coming next year and i also saw the xbox live thing.
Even if i wasn't surprised I'm still excited about the game, sadly i'll have to wait a whole year to play it.

I have to say, although the Ballet lacks the action of previous Gears games the dialogue is better.
