Well, that didn't take very long. Nintendo of Japan has officially announced the next installments in the long-running Pokemon series, Pokemon Black and Pokemon White for DS.
An official reveal of Pokemon Black and Pokemon White will happen on April 15, with both games scheduled for release sometime in 2010. However, Nintendo of America has not announced Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, so we can't say with much authority that's a US release, too.
I can't remember the last time I played a Pokemon game. It might've been Red and Blue.

I so can't wait to get this! its scheduled to release in Japan in september!, I'm assuming this Pokemon Nintendo USA seem to have a pattern of releasing New gen games in spring so expect to see it around march or april :D those are my predictions of course!

Wow you guys are far behind on the info. Serebii.net and Pokebeach.com have already updated their sites on all the new features of the games shown in Japan so far. The new features are pretty epic looking. Now we'll be able to upload our save files to the internet and send our pokemon into a new system feature called "The Dream World." You have two child hood friends who become your rivals, and then a third rival who wants to separate pokemon and humans. This game will have better graphics than previous games. Pokemon Black and White has areas that will actually look different depending on the version you buy. The American Website for Pokemon does show the legendary Pokemon for these games and States that the games are comging in the Spring of 2011.

Seriously? Unless they can do some major overhauls to the battle system to at least make it interesting to watch (or at least stop using the same crappy Pokemon calls since we're way past the GB's sound limitations) I really don't care anymore. It was one of the first good GB RPGs but each game was basically a rehash that made actually "catching them all" more of a near-impossible waste of time than the last with the same "become the best" plot.
Though I might be tempted if Nintendo made online battles WITHOUT the need of those stupid friend codes I might be tempted to try it.

I feel that the release of these two versions was forced. S.S. and H.G. was just put out some months ago and now a whole new story is about to unfold. My collection of pokemon in each evolutionary stage cannot be expand with limited pc room. If they do add on a new set of 150 new pokemon, I hope they give us a much more real HM whore in the beginning. hmm. Black or white. Use them both.

Well I wonder what will be the legendary pokemon in this game. Hmmm maybe dark will have a legendary death pokemon and white a pokemon that gives life or vis. Im curious on what they will call the next generation of pokemon... chlorine or timber. Oh well this is good since they just released GH & SS.

in the end nintendo should make a game with all the regions. just imagine after finishing one region and catching all the pokemon you go to the next. that would be awsome.
