A sequel to the video game Saw has been announced. Saw 2, a grisly survival-horror/puzzle game, will be available for the PS3 and 360 this fall.
The game, from Konami and Zombie Studios, promises "all-new stomach-twisting traps and puzzles, more visceral combat, and an all-new storyline that takes place between the second and third movie."
“The original Saw video game gave horror fans and gamers a new outlet to advance their favorite genre, but left them wanting more,” Martin Schneider, European Marketing & PR Director, Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH, said in a statement. “Saw 2 will give it to them, but be careful for what you wish for! Our successful partnership with Lionsgate allows us to advance the survival horror genre, giving players the most intense look into the Saw universe ever.”

Hear that? An intense look deep into the Saw universe. Press release hype aside, I really liked the first Saw game, in spite of its tacked-on combat and other issues. I thought the focus on weird puzzles and traps was a welcome spin on the usual, Silent Hill influenced horror genre, so I'm psyched for the sequel. What about you? Are you interested in Saw 2?
