Attention bustas, sucka MCS, wack-ass fronters and toys: You shall soon be eliminated. This fall, Konami is releasing Def Jam Rapstar, and your watery flows, doo-doo lyrics and other downscale hip-hoppery will be exposed to ridicule.

The game is rap karaoke, and will support motion controls on, presumably, all three major consoles. More than 40 songs will be included at release. The first confirmed tracks:

  • "Children's Story" -- Slick Rick
  • "Gold Digger" --  Kanye West
  • "Nuthin But a G Thang " -- Dr. Dre
  • "Live Your Life " -- T.I.
  • "Put On" -- Young Jeezy

The game is being developed by Terminal Reality, 4mm Games, which was founded by former members of Rockstar Games, and of course Def Jam will help out as well.

I like karaoke games. Sue me. I also like hip-hop. I like three of the five initial tracks. I like the idea of incorporating motion control into a karaoke game. I like that it's coming from Konami. I find this news fly and/or dope. I think the part of the population who thinks rapping is easy are in for a rude awakening when they try more complicated tracks.
