Bungie revealed an impressive amount of details regarding their under-the-radar shooter Halo: Reach during their latest weekly update. In addition to detailed breakdowns of some of the various pros and cons of the weaponry, armor abilities, and vehicles players can expect to have at their disposal in the game's multiplayer.
Two of the standout bits of info concern the newly revealed Armor Ability, Armor Lock, and the game’s weapon load out system. The Armor Ability sounds rather rad as it not only makes you momentarily invincible, but it also allows you to “shed plasma grenades, shred vehicles unfortunate enough to attempt a splatter, and deflect projectiles.” The downside is that you can’t move while using it. Can you say sitting duck?
As for the load out system, players will be able to choose between a predetermined mix of weapons, Armor Abilities and grenades specifically designed for the playlist and/or game type. So while you can’t mix and match the individual load out components, there will be plenty of options to meet your killing needs. Plus, you can always pick up new weapons during matches, so you’ll still be able to create the perfect weapon combo for your play style.
There are plenty of more details where that came from including clarification on Reach’s stealth kill mechanic, a Designated Marksman Rifle vs. Magnum discussion, an analysis of shield attributes, jet-pack love, and lots more. If you’re looking forward to Halo: Reach in the least, you’ll definitely want to pick up what Bungie’s throwing down.

Holy craziness, some of you people are ridiculous, this is Halo, NOT MW2, there's no ghillie suits, no weapon load-outs (and glitches). IT'S HALO. Grenades, Meleeing Tea-Bagging HALO!! Anything different and it wouldn't be Halo. Bungie may be tweaking things but it's still based off the 3 principles of Halo... Grenades, Meleeing... and Tea-Bagging! Again, anything else and it's NOT HALO!!! HOLY CRAP, MERRY CHRISTMAS.... Where's the Tylenol?!

I miss the days when FPS was just about a bunch of people with guns and then pure skill. Whoever could kill the other guy first the fastest with just his own potential and no in-game-tricks. Some power ups are okay, but this is getting ridiculious. Halo is practically starting to sound like an RPG.

=[ Still sad about the loss of the Spike Grenades & the Incendiary Grenades.. =/
..But that Armor Ability - "Armor Lock" - is lookin' mighty sexy..
..Though..I'm TICKED that they MESSED WITH ACTIVE CAMO!!!
They added a RADAR JAMMER into it!!! WHY?!?!?!?
Now it'll be like MW2 & people will know you're trying to sneak up on them!! GHEYYY!!!!
It DEFEATS the PURPOSE of HAVING Active Camo!!!
And you can't move fast with it anymore!! DOUBLE-GHEYY!!!
My dream of becoming a TRUE Ash'rak Assassin will NEVER be fulfilled noww!!!

As long as there is a warthog I can drive while my teammate is blasting fools in multiplayer.........that makes me happy!

I've never been excited for a HALO game. That is slowly changing week by week.

I might re-purchase a Xbox just to play this game. I loved Halo's multiplayer and I'm pretty sure I'd love this one.
Some games don't need that FPS rpg element like in MW2 or BFBC2. I liked the fact that you get to know that everyone is pretty much on equal footing because they can get the same weapons.
And I like the fact that they are not straying so far from how the original multiplayer worked, just tweaking it to make it more fun. For those who are complaining that it won't be as good as MW2, it won't.
It will be better.

It sounds really good. The previous Halos' have had amazing online multiplayer, but Reach seems to be kicking it up several notches without being a copy-cat which is hard to do. I love being able to customize my character, abilities, equipment etc. Yep, this game is ganna suck a couple more years from my life. Anyone else agree?

All the people hating on hip fire, I have to say that I am glad there is differences, and not all games play like MW2 which I like.
Its just to aim down the site you must stop, and not move. I halo its all about moving and shooting, which makes fun fire fights against aliens. It has this stand off feel you do not get in MW2 or Bad Company.
I like both, and I don't want both to be the exact same.

personally I dont expect much from this game other then the final introduction of bots to multiplayer, you give me that bungie I will buy your game. For the love of god how can a game even take top multiplayer game when it doesn't even have bots for when people leave game. Lets take a look, Counter strike has them, Unreal tournament has them, even old stupid games have them (tho they are half-made crap holes), THEY HAVE THEM! Seriously where is the bots, some people hate them but what do you do when you have a game where if you quit you lose Exp. and Rank, and when they quit the spot cannot even be filled up. When the other team has one guy left, and it just happens to be the biggest map in the game. Life gets boring.

Personally i think that the way Bungie is going is a great idea however i think a nice touch would to have it so that the different armor parts have different attributes I.e. if you have a knife on your shoulder pad you preform faster executions With the knife making for a more bloody ending.... or even ad shield cells for a quicker recharge.. who needs perks just make it so that each player can have his own unique spartan to fit his playing style fuel cells for longer jet pack.... a bandoleer for faster reloads.... power chord connect to suit for faster reload / charge on covenant weapons.... just slight changes to allow players to play the way they want even more so and then after the game has been out for awhile release MK II parts! it is quite simple BUNGIE PLEASE READ THIS!!

I can't wait to see how Bungie handles the loadout system! If the beta has the jetpacks seen in the video then I am SO buying Reach!

Finally, getting back to the good ole' basics

Just say no to multiplayer,Bungie, I double dog dare you to make a single player Halo, but you won't cause you don't have the talent of what it takes.
Any more multiplayer games or Halo games, and I'm going back to Sony.

Halo Reach - The best Halo game in the Franchise, also paved the way for world domination by the Bungie Empire of America. Its awesomeness could only be compared to Masterchief himself in the gaming world... all other shooters that came before it were obsolete.
Leon423
The first four posts are idiotic.
You want customizable loadouts? Your wish is granted, go into customs and make loadouts for you gametypes.
Other games? Why play other games, although BFBC2 is amazing, when Halo generally does whatever it tries to do the best?
The game looks like it will be amazing, as most Halo's do, but I do hope that they don't mess up as much as they did from the H3 public beta to the actual release this time.
