It's official, readers. I have iPad fever.
I wanted an iPhone 3GS; I resisted the temptation to upgrade. With the iPad, I was convinced it was something worth picking up once the price dropped or the second generation was announced. That's not the case anymore.
The current plan is to stumble out of bed at 5:00 AM and walk over to the local Apple store by 6:00 AM. If 6:00 AM isn't early enough, well...I'll just order one through Apple.com and patiently wait. And by patiently wait, of course, I mean scream loudly and be bummed out.
I hope I don't reinact this week's Modern Family...
Do you guys think I'll mange to wake up for an iPad?

Well if you do get one i hope to hear all the pros and cons you find with it. i'm tring to convince my girl to buy me one, but she cant seem to justify spending the mone when she already bought me the ipod touch. she claims there is no point in buying a huge ipod touch you cant put in your pocket.

I'm taking a "wait and see" approach with the iPad... Maybe wait for the second gen release, like I did with the iPhone.
But, I'm really looking forward to the kind of apps comic book publishers develop for it. I really love the idea of having a portable library of music, movies, books, and comics to take with me everywhere.

Also, I'd rather just wait and see what the MIcrosoft Courier is all about. Looks more revolutionary in my opinion. But don't take my word for it....

Early Adopters are lame. Apple, to me, seems like a company that purposely releases bare bones hardware so they can release a "new" one each year with stuff they could have put in it from the start.

I'm going to get up, get dressed, drive to the Apple Store and laugh in their faces as I spend my $500 elsewhere. I have an iPhone 3G, and I currently enjoy plenty of great Apps for great prices. The Apps made for iPad (which are just ports of the iPhone versions) are going to jump in price anywhere from 100% or more. Some Apps are being priced $4 or more for the same thing. For what??? A bigger screen? I am not paying that much for an App because it is on a bigger screen.
DVD manufacturers do not charge me more to watch a DVD on a 42 inch screen compares to a 22 inch one, do they?

I'm walking up at 6:30am tomorrow to go run 10 miles, so if you can't do it for an iPad then you don't deserve one!
