Killzone 2 MLG

Everyone is rushing into the 3D space, and Killzone 2 may be the first to arrive. A PS3 firmware update coming this summer will add depth to the game, according to the latest episode of lifestyle gaming program Qore.

You'll need a 3D ready TV, a PS3, glasses (they'll come with the TV) and Killzone 2. Check out Qore, Episode 23, on the PlayStation network for a 2D look at Killzone 2 in 3D.

My question: Do you have a 3D ready TV? Do you know anyone who has a 3D ready TV? Does the thought of 3D gaming excite you enough to purchase a new flat-screen?

Man if I had the money I would get a 3D TV in heartbeat, but all my cash will be going towards college next year. I'd say I probably won't be able to get a 3D TV for at least a few years until their cheaper. Although as soon as I find a friend who's got one though, I'll be hitting up their place with my PS3 and Killzone 2 in a minute.

I am buying the Sony 3DTV 60LX900 on June! The first thing I'll do is watching the Soccer World Cup in 3D on ESPN-3D ! I wonder if FINAL FANTASY XIII also can be updated to 3D?

I think it's a heap and i am not buying into it. Wouldn't it just be easier and cheaper on all of us if they just go back to the red/green with the paper glasses. I like 3D and all but not enough to spend a bunch of money on a new TV to experience it. This is a nothing more than another one of Ralph Kramden's hair brained schemes to try and suck the money out of the consumer's pockets.

Why can't Sony (and Microsoft and Nintendo for that matter) add in Red-Green 3D to their consoles? It wouldn't be difficult to do and those of us who won't be buying a 3DTV for a loooooooooong time might get some sort of benefit.

I welcome 3D in combination with motion controls and head tracking tech. 3D technology by itself, however, doesn't excite me.

If you are going to buy a new TV, think of the whole 3D thing as a fringe benefit when you decide to buy. Look how awesome the TV is in 2D first. Don't buy it fully on the 3D capability (because if you did that, no one would buy the Samsung because the Panasonic blows it out of the water as far as 3D imaging). If you have not seen these TVs, they both put out an awesome 2D picture and worth the price of the TV alone (just the price of the TV). Also, compare these TVs to last years LED/LCD (Samsung) and better-than-cheap Plasma TVs (Panasonic G series and up) and you'll notice the price point is actually the same or a bit lower depending on where you buy.

Aside from them being 3D, these TVs are great looking without the whole 3D gimmick and I myself plan on getting the new Panasonic because it looks great with or without 3D. The new Sony 3D capable 3D TVs will be released later as well and should not be costing much more than the TVs they already offer.

Too early for a new TV - when they are less that $1000 for a 56" then I will get one.

This 3D fad is really annoying and it does need to end...AGAIN. It's occasionally (AVATAR), but not for everything! Who wants to sit and watch TV and have to wear glasses? And the problem is, people/companies are making 3D projects with stuff just jumping out or jutting at you. Instead of it being immersive like Avatar. It's stupid and unnecessary.

It's a price thing as far as I can see.
People that play 3D games always like them but they can't afford the damn tv's so they say it sucks.
I believe 3D will take over eventually when the 3D sets are more affordable.

DUDE! YES! As if KZ2 wasn't AMAZING enough already. Even though I probably won't have a 3D TV for a WHILE still. the should also do this with both Resistance and Uncharted AND Orange Box. And while they're at it how'about Fallout 3.

3D is really the next step from here, but it's a little too early to make that step. There are kinks to be worked out, and whatnots to make sure that gaming keeps the progress it's made so far.

I mean, look at motion control, it's added minimal depth to gaming so far but it's starting to get going.

So, no, I don't have a 3D-ready TV, I don't know anyone who has one and I will get a 3DTV but not any time too soon. Give 3D some more time; it's probably not ready yet.

im pretty sure god of war 3 is 3D ready if you look at how the games levels are and cut scenes.

I hate this 3d fad, it needs to die.

I for one cannot wear glasses over glasses, and I get severe headaches after 15 minutes of gameplay.

Screw graphics, I'm looking at gameplay.

"3d tv" is very broad term.

Any tv that supports true 120hz or 240hz (USA) should be able to do 3d. I have a Sony Bravia ex500 that is 120hz. It only cost around $800 and supports 3d.

I bought a decent Samsung a few years ago and I think it still looks great, so I'm not in the market for a new TV for a while. When I feel I need a new TV, I'll probably choose one with 3D. It's not impressive enough of a technology that i have to go out and buy one now.
