Apple and its content partners are doing a great job of convincing me to hit "buy" on Apple.com right now. The latest? Activision's dropped Geometry Wars: Touch for iPad on the iTunes App Store.
No, I don't know how Geometry Wars will work on an iPad, but the idea of a touch-based, HD-sized version of Geometry Wars that can come on the road with me and sit in my lap...oh, boy.
The screens above are from the iPad version. There's more, including game features, below.
"Geometry Wars: Touch utilizes higher graphics and faster processing to enhance the game experience and immerse players deeper into non-stop shooter pandemonium. This is sure to be a must have game for the iPad. In addition to the six original Geometry Wars gameplay modes, Deadline, King, Evolved, Pacifism, Waves and Sequence, Geometry Wars: Touch for iPad will feature a brand new, adrenaline-filled mode -- Titans! -- exclusively on the iPad. The new mobile iPad platform provides Geometry Wars fans a versatile new way to annihilate enemy hordes and clear endless waves of attacks while they're at home or on the go."

Wallet, thy time is near. Check out official listing on the iTunes App Store.

I'm a little confused as to how it's going to play but what bothers me the most is that out of 700 games to be released with the iPad the games that are getting put on top ten lists are all games that we've either played before on other systems or already have on our iTouch/Phone, but in HD. I'm a firm believer in not seeing the iPad/Touch/Phone as gaming devices and I'm already against the iPad because I don't get why someone would need one so needless to say I'm not really excited to hear about iPad gaming.
Now don't get me wrong there are a few games I see working well on the iPad. Civilization would probably be my first buy if i was a iPad gamer and it's because Civ is the type of game where i can set the damn thing down on my lap or table and treat it like a world domination board game at my fingertips. Strategy games would be what I'd put money on to sell big on this thing because anything else would be like playing a game on a over-sized Game Gear, but without buttons or a D-Pad

As cool as this is, how is the hunt for Bigfoot going?!
For the controls, there are pads on the bottom of the screen, not part of the game, and from there you move your thumbs just as you would if they are joysticks. (and I just made that up, but it would definitely work).
