The Modern Warfare 2: Stimulus Pack is upon us, available exclusive to Xbox 360 owners for the next 30 days, but that shouldn't stop PC and PS3 owners from watching from the sidelines at home. Friend of G4, Matt Pascual, took the maps to task with this comparison video looking at how the "Crash" map is depicted in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 versus how it exists in the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. You'll notice that it's still a very faithful rendition of the classic map. Of course, throw familiarity out the window once someone calls in the AC-130. See for yourself here:
UPDATE: The brightness was higher on the original video, so we've since recaptured the video below. Our intention was to walk through the attention to detail of the new maps, so we apologize if the original video misrepresented that. This should set the record straight:

Wow cant believe im saying this but mw2s sucks. even though cod4 did look kind of drab, its way better and looks more war torn. i also think they should have opened some of the boundaries to make the maps larger. thanks actvision ,u greedy pigs.

ya... okay so a little dissappointed with the colors lighting and i definantly dont want to spend the 15 bucks! but i proabbly will just because eventually everyone will be on it! dang peer pressure... lol

personally the lighting effects in game (MW2) are ways better than MW1. and yes i forked out the 15 dollas for 5 maps.... not a waste just.... waiting for them to fix it.

cod 4 looks better outside and in blue room. cod 6 looks beter in the inside of buildings and under overhangs. So wtf happened to Modern warfare 2, isnt supposed to be BETTER!? I looked at the comparison to overgrown and modern warfare 2 kick cod 4's butt into the ground. I mean WTF!!!

Not sure is this can be an "apples to apples" comparison as it looks like the MW2 capture quality is not as good. At least I hope that's the case 'cause the MW2 side looks like crap.
Doesn't matter much to me anyway. I like MW2 and I'd really like to play the new maps, but there is no way in hell that I'm paying $15 for this pack.

I guess IW jacked up the particle effects for MW2 and lost some of the definition. Sad but it doesn't matter I won't be getting this unless the price drops, or if it is free on PC but it won't be.
