It isn’t a random billboard, but I guess for now, fans of Insomniac Games’ Resistance franchise will have to settle for some sequel teasing compliments of a Sony survey. Joystiq got their hands on said survey, and in it, respondents are asked two key questions:
“Do you think that there is a future version of Resistance, Resistance 3 being developed?” and “If it was being developed, how likely are you to purchase the future version of Resistance, Resistance 3 for the PS3?”
The first question seems rather unnecessary, given how assured the third installment is (but then again, I don’t write game surveys for a living, so what do I know?). Although, what I do know is that Resistance lovers are hungry for more substantial announcements regarding Insomniac’s next offering in the shooter series. Chances are those requests will be honored during E3 2010.
Considering the first two games released in November of 2006 and 2008, it wouldn’t be inconceivable to see the third one land this November, and I wouldn’t be shocked if Sony incorporated PlayStation Move support into it as well. Just a thought.

Hell yeah I want a new Resistance. But Insomniac, could you please bring the weapon wheel back I missed that so much in the 2nd one, it brings a certain stragety that I like. Also could you please keep the online co op from the second one but please add split scren co op for the man campaign like in the first, that would be sweet.
And I agree, update the engine a little, after playing GOW3 I started playing resistance 2 again and it does look a little out dated, but over all this would be a pre order for me.

R-2 = BEST CO-OP EVER . Being able to login to your home account while playing splitscreen at my buddy's house is such an asset... and hey, the graphics on the titans is pretty good up close.. lol..

I have played both the first and second Resistance games and I still hunger for more. I just hope the next title has more to offer in graphics, and plot this time as the second game did jump around a bit much even for me.
Honestly if they did release another game I would be more then happy to buy it and play it as long as it was on a new engine and one that looked better then Halo games. I mean we see the PS3 can do games like Killzone 2 with insane graphics, but it also can do games like Uncharted 2 with even better graphics. Now with God of War 3 we see that the PS3 can do both graphics and scale at the same time.
I just want to see the next Resistance game take all the graphics of Killzone 2, and the Scale of God of War 3 and perfectly meld them together...... I would play that forever IMHO. As long as the online is humans vs Chimera with full vehicle combat, and a better class system.

I think they should make it where you can use the dualshock controller and the move. Like socom, So we can play the game one way and then again the other that will be cool

I played the first and loved it... didnt get a chance to play the second as my friends too cheap to buy nay games now and I'm too cheap to buy a ps3... but if the second ones at all like the first then it was awesome... i cant wait for this and I'm hoping i get a chance to play both 2 and 3

I only played the second Resistance not the first, and I have to say it is a really sweet game. The ending of the second got me so pumped for a third.

The Resistance series has really come into its own since its debut in 2006 and I personally really enjoy the series so yes I'll take an order of Resistance 3 with a side order of an Auger to exterminate the Chimera once again.

I am excited! I am a late PS3 owner but I purchased all the old exclusives, and I liked resistance WAY! more then I liked killzone, I guess Nazi's in space with genric body suits kinda was iffy.
But this will be sweet, I feel the series does not get the attention or fame it deserves, Am I the only one who likes resistance more then Killzone?
But also I hope this survey does not mean that they are in the start of the project.
I want games now! Id rather have a broken game then wait that is for sure!

Insomniac is one of the few developers that makes me want to 100% their games. and this is even before achievements or trophies. Resistance 3 is a buy for me.

Resistance 3 will be a day one purchase for me, as will anything else Insomniac brings to the table. That being said, I'd like to be able to carry all my weapons and preferred the originals co-op.
