Rumors that Quantic Dream’s thriller Heavy Rain would eventually incorporate support for Sony’s PlayStation Move motion controller have been swirling for a while now, helped in large part to the game’s creator, David Cage, revealing last month that his team had originally planned to include motion control support in the game. Obviously, that didn’t happen.
However, now that the PlayStation Move will be released later this year, Cage and company have apparently decided to revisit their original motion control plans. A Sony representative confirmed Move support for Heavy Rain in an interview with a Belgian gaming magazine that was later picked up by Gamer.nl (via Eurogamer).
This is hardly surprising news, especially given Cage’s previous statements about the role that motion controls played in the game’s early development, but it’s still good to know. Now we’ll have to wait and see how Move is integrated into the Heavy Rain experience. All I really want to be able to do is use Move to make a half-cooked omelet. Then again, I’m a simple man.

When I got the text from G4 earlier today saying this I literally yelled "Hell Yes" in the middle of my ecogov class. I was really hoping this would happen and I'm so glad it did, Heavy Rain could work so well with move. Also, after watching that new Move tech demo on engadget I think Quantic Dreams next game will probably do a lot of unique things with move. Things we didn't see in Heavy Rain.

NICE! I still haven't gotten Heavy Rain but I guess I'll wait for the move to come out then.

It will make a good game better, the only thing I want to know is what will be the control scheme? 2 Moves? A move and the sub?

this is getting more interesting every second. Cant wait to MOVE it!

WOw no bad comments, I totally agree when I say it deserves Move support

There are definitely great possibilities here. This doesn't surprise me though it was bound to go in this direction, glad Sony picked up on that. Now the question is do I wait for Move or do I just play it now or whenever I'm able to get it.

As much as motion control usually cause groans of annoyance, I'm interested. I had a great time with HR. Could you imagine trying to get through those high voltage lines w/ motion control? Or crawling trough the "tunnel", or escaping the flipped car? That could add a real (dare I say it.) level of immersion.

I've played Heavy Rain and appreciate a lot of the ideas it brings to the table, but was put off by the controls. Motion controls seem like they could actually work here, and bring out Heavy Rain's full potential. I am looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Gah, I really want Heavy Rain but can't decide if I wanna play it first with the Dualshock, or wait till the fall for Move support.

Oh dear God. Some of the moments in this game were already intense enough having to press X or triangle fast enough. Now I'm going to have to actually MOVE fast enough.

as if Heavy Rain couldn't get any better...gives me even more reason not to ever trade it in once I played it 100 times!!!!!

does this mean I have to do the strip tease dance for that creepy guy at the club? ewwww, guys, bring your girlfriends

they definitely need to put together a console + move + heavy rain package for this, that's a package that could "move" a lot of consoles as long as Sony ups the production

Sounds good to me.

Pretty cool actually, I was planing on playing Heavy Rain in the summer but if Move is priced right I might hold off on buying it to play it with Move.

This is vert intriguing. For those of us that actually played Heavy Rain (unlike the trolls that will soon invade this thread) we know that there are definately some real possibilities with the Move and Heavy Rain together.
I plan on buying the Move so this will be a great reason to replay Heavy Rain in the Fall.

It makes sense to me. I can't see how anything bad could come of it really; it seems like the perfect game to explore the new motion control system coming to the PS3.
On another note: Will you share some of that omelet?

Can't wait for the fanboy bitchiness that will soon come.
On topic, it does make sense.
BONERJAM
It makes sense, they almost should have waited for Move to come out before releasing it.
