Two solid bits of news for gamers eagerly awaiting Super Mario Galaxy 2. Not only has the official cover art for the game been released (see it there on the right?), but more importantly Amazon has revealed that it is offering a $20 credit towards a future game purchase if you pre-order the game.
As Joystiq points out, Wal-Mart offers the same deal, but for Halo: Reach as well. So if you’re one of the millions of people who will be picking up either of these games, and you like saving money, it might be worth pulling the pre-order trigger.

I'll probably rent this one first because Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption comes out in May too. I'm going to give my wallet a break.

Evening out the playing field: Halo doesn't suck.
I gotta see what GameStop is offering, first. Doubt it's as good as this, but still. I think i have some time.
Also, i like alternate costumes, levels, and/or weapons. If i'm gonna preorder the game anyway (like Fable III or Crackdown 2), might as well get a bonus. Not like i'm gonna preorder a game i have no interest in for the bonus skin.

Halo sucks. Mario, absolutely a must-have. But do I take this deal or wait and see if TrU offers anything? TrU seems to offer sales more frequently while Amazon just likes to take $4 from a new release.

The same deal is for Halo Reach, if you want both games I recommend pre-ordering SMG2 now, then when it come out use the credit on Halo: Reach, then use Halo Reach's $20 on whatever else you may want. This is why amazon is beast!

I doubt you can use the credit on that particular game. Still a nice deal for sure. Have to see where I'm at around release.
