Massively-multiplayer online games (or MMOs as I think they should be called) require a certain level of commitment that I just can’t provide, but based on Eric Eckstein’s preview of Funcom’s upcoming The Secret World, I might have to reconsider my avoidance of this genre. Case in point:
“While the game will include starting areas for New York, London and Seoul, the first revealed area for The Secret World is Kingsmouth, a New England town inspired by the likes of Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft. A fog has rolled in, sealing off the town and claiming the locals which have been replaced by demonic creatures.”
Yeah. You definitely want to check out the full preview.

been following it for awhile. one of my major concerns with it is that with pve you can group with other players of other factions, but their guild system only allows people of the same faction to be in the same guild. this seems kinda silly, im not sure how pve fans are going to adjust to not being able to be in the same guild as the people they play pve with.
