When it comes to game teases, if it doesn’t involve a countdown clock, I don’t want to hear about it (and Stephen "I Like Countdown Clocks” Johnson definitely doesn’t want to hear about it). Thankfully, BioWare have done me and Steve right by tossing a mysterious countdown clock onto their official website today, as well as on the Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins sites. Does this mean we can cross off Star Wars: The Old Republic from the potential announcement list? Guess we'll find out in five days when the clock runs out.
It might be totally unrelated but at the top of BioWare’s site, there’s a drop down menu for games, and “New Next Gen Game” sits just below The Old Republic. I’m not sure if this has been up on the site for a while (and obviously BioWare has unannounced games in the works, so no surprise there), but I thought it was interesting.
Thanks for the tip zeropilot!

It now says beneath the timer, "Countdown to an Epic BioWare Community Event".
eolith
according to the code, the countdown javascript file is hosted on their dragonage.bioware.com server.

New Elder Scrolls featuring Bioware/Bethesda match up!

Is it a coincidence that the timer will end in the middle of PAX EAST? I hope not, it would be awesome if BioWare made an appearance there =).

I doubt it is going to be a console MMO of any kind. The thing is MMO's are predominantly subscription based, and so far in this console generation the subscription based issue has yet to have been worked out on consoles. Remember Champions Online that was supposed to come out, but never did because they could not decide how to handle subscriptions on the 360 which you already had to pay for xbox live. Also now the PS3 is moving towards payed online as well. Personally, I am thinking its a new franchise being the ME trilogy is nearing its end.

My theory is a ME 2 expansion pack/ very large DLC a la Dragon Age: Awakening. I think it is too soon for this to be an announcement about ME3 although I could see that happening. My brother is hoping it's the announcement of either an open or closed beta for Old Republic, I hope it's ME related.

Sonic Chronicles 2?
XwingVmanX
I think it is going to be SWTOR related since it doesn't show up on that website, and it is imo one of there big games coming out, right next to DA and ME

Maybe something about warhammer?

1. We already know there will be a ME3 and a DA2.
2. They did not do a timer for DA:Awakenings so it makes it no sense to do it for ME2 content.
3. Not SW:TOR news
What can be..
1. Mass Effect console mmo 360 exclusive
2. Jade Empire 2
3. New Next-Gen title

@hkgenesis
I'll let Bethesda continue to develop Elders Scrolls 5...
Could it be Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood 2???
Anyways... if its any news pertaining to ME I will be happy, I always enjoy hearing announcements about it and about DA, too.

Ooh ooh, please let it be Jade Empire 2!
hkgenesis

gravy666

Jade Empire. Bioware game made right after the first KotoR. Check it out. Pretty much what you described.

A RPG set in ancient china would be cool, as seen through western perspective. I mean I always thought the Chinese interpertation of demonds are kinda cool and different looking. Imagine things walking around that look like that creature that helped godzilla kill megagodzilla in the movie "Godzilla vs. Megagodzilla"
that would be cool
