If you haven’t picked up Sony’s epic brutality-fest God of War III yet, and you feel like doing something good for humanity, then you're in luck.
From now until March 30, PlayStation LifeStyle will be auctioning off a God of War III Ultimate Edition on eBay that comes bundled with a slick looking poster autographed by the game’s developers. All of the proceeds from the auction will go to Neurofibromatosis, Inc. to aid in the treatment of neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder of the nervous system. In other words, a great cause.
There have been just five bids so far, and the asking price is $112.50 as of this writing. Similar to the limited edition The Beatles: Rock Band-themed Xbox 360's auctioned off last year for Doctors Without Borders, if you can afford to participate, then you definitely should. A great cause. A great bundle. What more do you need?

I wonder if Sony will release DLC for the game, maybe some arena challenges (and maybe getting me my phantom skin that would be nice too : (

Are you kidding me? That Pandora's Box thing is so friggin' cool. I have it sitting on my coffee table in my living room holding my 'God of War III' and 'God of War Collection' in the bottom tier and the art book in the top tier. It's a great conversation piece, too.
Back on topic, this auction is really neat. In my search for an Ultimate Edition box 2 weeks ago I did stumble upon some auctions on eBay that benefited breast cancer and AIDs. Hope this does well. I would participate, but I'm just a poor college boy...

It's great that Playstation & Santa Monica are doing this and I hope other developers follow in their example. That said I have to agree that it would be nice if there was some added oomph to this auction such as another custom Kratos PS3 like the one Spike TV gave away.
All that aside I would like to say that like others I was somewhat disappointed that the soundtracks for the God of War trilogy along with the Blood & Metal album were download only (which in itself took a few days after release to work properly) as opposed to a nice pack in. I find it funny they weren't considering the nice album cover art that was made for each. Overall though the best part of the Ultimate set to me has to be the retrospective documentary, again why no physical disc, it's a great history and back-story to the games and really shows how much the developers put into this memorable series.

While I loved GoW III, I don't quite know why I bought the Ultimate Edition. Again, I was disappointed. Just a cool looking plastic box with the game and a freakin' art book (can't tell you how many art books I've collected). I hate how everything else was DLC (namely the soundtracks and videos). Not worth $100. I would've been fine paying $70 for the game and DLC and nothing else, but not $30 more for a box and book.
