We're headed into the studio this afternoon to record the latest episode of Feedback, but before that happens, we need a little help from you guys. The surprise announcement of the Nintendo 3Ds still has us spinning -- expect plenty of discussion on that front -- but we're looking for some insightful reader questions to spur some debate towards the end. What've you got?

I want to bring up some ideas on how MS is going to use NATAL. I believe the whole reason MS is releasing NATAL for the 360 is that they are using gamers as Demo for what NATAL will be used for in later versions on different systems and equipment. I do not believe that its purpose or future is to be a gaming add on only. I believe they are using it that way to test it and help fine tune it. During the announcement of NATAL they showed it recognising all the people in the room and even logging one persomn on just by speech and and how the user looked. I believe NATAL is the next step in regnognition software for IDs and logons. MS will have a couple of years fine tuning their software and equipment so that they get it shrunk down to where it would be readily attachable to a laptop or an ATM. Now to get on your piece of tech, you would just have to speak and look at the camera. You would say your phrase and the system would log you on. They would have to engineer in safeguards but that is what this demo will be for. This would be a multi-billion dollar system if they could get it to work. What do you guys think? Love the show but thought Heavy Rain was too much not fun for me. So little time I only finish games I like.

Why put 3D on a mobile device? 3D is immersive and I hate having to stop. The reason the iPhone dominates the mobile market is because it isn't immersive. Just instant gratification of beating a 99 cent game in an hour or so of gameplay you don't mind pausing.
I cant see myself playing a large expensive game while riding the train for 10 min. 3D is something that would be amazing on Console or PC. I would have thought Nintendo remembered the VIrtual Boy. I know they cant implement it on a console because they cant control the screen its played on. Nintendo needs to stop trying to be so interactive and actually focus on the games. Nintendo started the industry and I would hat to see them fall because they don't respect the fans that made them.

My question is about the graphics revolution we seem to be having these days. Upon playing Final Fantasy 13 I can't help but feel like games are sacrificing core gamplay elements that keep us interested. Things like mini games, customization and side-quests seem to be tossed out the window in order to build upon graphics and 3D quality. Will developers make more games with less play time and even less game quantity in order to make the games pretty and cinematic. Cause I feel FF13 was only an eye candy game.

Since it was announced that we wont be seeing any Killzone 3 this year, it lead me to believe that maybe we would being seeing Resistance 3 as playstation's big shooter this fall/winter. Do you think that this is a possible occurance?

3DS sounds like a great idea as long as it's not forced (like the grafting controls for FPS games on wii). Nintendo has caught my attention recently by taking risks with their hardware, I do enjoy the way I play games on the wii and DS. What I do want to know is if they are paying more attention to the hooks for their consoles and not on the customers that buy them, because my biggest complaints for the wii are just with things that can be fixed if payed attention too. Like making better online play, lifting friend codes (so awful), and advertising 3rd party games. Because there is some quality stuff out there that is not made directly from nintendo (Madworld, Tatsunoku vs. capcom, RE darkside chronicles, etc.) I just wish that i didn't have to do so much research to find recommendations for these games. It would be great to see nintendo address these problems and build from that alongside their creative hardware designs.

the 3DS is a dumb name to begin with when i hear or read "3DS" i think of 3 DS sitting next to each other. the 3D aspect is cool but do we really need it? it feels like they are adding 3D for the sake of having 3D.

What I'd like to know is why Nintendo and several other companies are suddenly so interested in 3-D. I've never had 3-D work for me anytime I tried to use it watching a movie, and while I know this is supposed to be "new technology" and all, I'm still thinking that now most companies have pushed HD into homes they needed some new benchmark to compete with.
Do you guys think this new 3-D is going somewhere, or just be a big flop?

this whole Nintendo doing it first thing seems to be nothing more then catch up for missing out on disk media and online content. Remember when everyone ragged on the game cube for not being internet capable, I think Nintendo just doesn't want to get caught with their pants down again. As for me I won't be buying a DS3d, not when sony is probably going to do it better and with more actual games, nothing against nintendo but some time ago they forgot they were a game company and not an extension of Hasbro

Should I feel guilty for not buying Heavy Rain new? If two copies of the same game are being sold, and one is cheaper, I'd feel stupid paying for the more expensive copy. With that said, with all the discussion about wanting more of this type of game being made (I agree), I think I'd feel guilty for not giving the developers my money, or rather, my purchase not showing up in the NPD sales statistics.

Considering how 3D is still a big controversy in the Console business, I'm kinda of confused as to why Nintendo is heading in that direction with a portable? 3D/HD Graphics can only be enjoyed on a BIG TV, its kinda questionable how they intend to duplicate that effect on a small screen, considering they're not going to use 3D Glasses.
Honestly, it seems like Nintendo is just looking to duplicate the Wii success by trying out another gimick that might appeal to the casual audience. Is that Nintendo's thing now? =/

OK Nintendo put out a lots of DS over the years i hope that the 3DS its not just to push sales cause of Sony and Microsoft coming in to the picture. Yes their is some creativity at hand with it, but all the people who was thinking they had a final product fills cheated in some way which is not good. One game that i think that would make good use of the system is Zelda for its puzzles. As for Sony and Microsoft OK i have a 360, for my type of games, Nintendo dose not support hardcore gamers only casual gamers or so it seems like. Sony and Microsoft support hard core gamers so it cool to see what hardcore game they make with PA games( Physically Active) they make. Note: thats what i call them.

Innovation in gaming is great and should never stop, but when has it gone a bit overboard? There is a 3-D craze sweeping the entertainment industry, movies mostly, and it seems to be something that may be a passing fad. So I pose the question: Is it a good idea for the gaming industry to try and cash in on a fad when it usually ends in disaster? (And by that I mean when they have tried games adapted from movies and tv shows that are popular.)

I hope Nintendo doesn't go soo 3d that i have to ware 3d glasses... trust me its not the right direction leave it to the tv companies. Unless you what a headache...

The recent release of Red Steel 2 seems to be the final realization of everything hardcore fans wanted from the Wii, not to say it is perfect though. But it is true shooter/action game that seems to use the motion controls well and thus giving you an experience you can't get on the Playstation or XBox (at least not until their motion controls come out). The question is, are hardcore fans going to embrace this game or are they too jaded by what they feel as Nintendo's constant preference for casual gamers that they are going to ignore this game like so many other 3rd party Wii games? Also is it being Wii motion plus only going to hurt sales of the game or help sales of Wii motion plus? And would this game sell better on the Playstation and/or XBox after they release their motion controls than for the Wii?

Do you guys see major companies, look into 3d because its the next step in complete and utter interactivity, such as the hologram "esk" feel that we saw in star trek or or another example is tron were the player is immersed in a virtual world?.Inevitably it will happen but is it just to early to push this idea to consumers that enjoy the buttons and joysticks?.

Do you guys think Nintendo will get better third party support for the 3DS than what they have got for their previous systems. Nintendo has not really had great third party support for their most recent hardware, developers have complained they can't get sells but I think it has more to do with them not taking Nintendo seriously and not supporting their systems from the start. A lot of people thought the more powerful PSP would wipe the floor with the DS and that the more powerful PS3 would wipe the floor with the Wii. Third parties didn't think Nintendo would see any success with the these systems let alone be the one winning the current generation in terms of sales. Now that third parties have seen what Nintendo can achieve in terms of sales with their hardware, do you think third parties will support this this new handheld at the beginning or continue to show less support for Nintendo.

Starting with fallout 3's Broken Steel, and ranging from Borderlands' Secret Armory to Dragon's Age Origins:Awakening, it seems a growing trend in western RPGs is to increase the level cap, forming an epilogue of sorts. Do you believe more developers will adopt this idea, allowing veteran players the challenge of raising their established character to stronger levels or not? Also during the preview of ME2's Kasumi's Stolen Memories, Casey hinted at larger content packs being available for Mass Effect 2. Do you think that Bioware will release a Mass Effect equivalent of Awakening, increasing the level cap and adding on an epilogue of sorts?

While Sony has decided to jump on board with motion controls, I'm still wondering about Microsoft's Project Natal. All they're using is a camera: no new controllers or sub-controller. I can see casual games doing well with this, but for core gamers, Natal could be used for limited purposes. As a FPS and RPG fan, my question is this: What can Project Natal do for (or to) the genres that I like to play?
