PlayStation 3 owners who pre-ordered Quantic Dream’s moody thriller Heavy Rain have already been able to play through the first chapter of downloadable content for the game, The Taxidermist. In this episode, journalist Madison Paige follows a lead while hunting for the Origami Killer that brings her in contact with yet another less than friendly character, who apparently has an affinity for stuffing and mounting animals. (What’s with Madison stumbling across every serial killer except the one she’s looking for?)
Well, it turns out that all Heavy Rain players will be able to experience chapter one in the Heavy Rain Chronicles soon enough, because The Taxidermist will be available on the PlayStation Store starting April 1 for $4.99.
Anyone played through the DLC already? How is it?

The DLC was pretty fun. It has a list of all the possible endings which keeps you playing to get all of them. And by the way when you play the DLC, when the taxerdermist is chasing you go into his garage and grab the chainsaw. It creates the funniest end to the taxerdermist LOL.

It's more than 10 minutes...15+ and it's extremely intense.

This DLC is a joke,it's only like 10 minutes long and not worth the 5 bucks. Is it just me or does Madison kinda resembles Morgan Webb?

Did anyone do the 4 days challenge? I solved it and got a reward video from Jayden, but then no reward email came. I was thinking it would be a code for DLC after I got nothing before the game came out. Still haven't heard. Anyone else do the challenge?

As a rare opportunity to play a (since polished) tech demo (I'm sure there's a more appropriate term) it was quite a nice extra for the PAL special edition. I'm not sure it's necessarily something I'd pay for as DLC, however.
Controlling Madison through the hallways felt even more clunky than normal...which isn't exactly enjoyable when you've got a big crazy Taxidermist hunting for you. The first time I played it I accidentally stumbled into the very room he was searching thanks to the controls - initiating an action sequence that I actually wound up losing after missing one button prompt (I assume that this is a hold-over from the original demo - although I suppose it could also be a design decision considering the short nature of the content). On my second attempt I managed to sneak out of the house without The Taxidermist spotting Madison.
It did have a very nice, creepy atmosphere to it, however, and I could definitely see this behaving as a great model for future Heavy Rain DLC. That's assuming that any DLC patterned after The Taxidermist would fall more in line with the final product.
So basically, it's okay, but not something to get too excited over - unless you're really interested in playing a slice of Heavy Rain's development history.

Guess they did not expect the game to sell that well so they sent few codes? lol Still pretty bad though.
