Ubisoft has released the official playable demo for Sam Fisher's latest, Splinter Cell: Conviction. Fisher is an Xbox 360 and PC exclusive this time around and Ubisoft seems to have gone back to the drawing board for this one (which has been a long time coming). Whatever they're doing is working, since they're convincing people like me, who have never played a Splinter Cell before, to keep a close eye on Splinter Cell: Conviction as we near its April release. Have you had a chance to play the demo?

@ Dpsx7, lol @ "fanperson". How does ps3 have a larger userbase, or do you mean that they'd want more users overall? Plus, you seem to make enough statements against the 360 to qualify you as a fanboy or a "fanperson" as you call it. And if I remember correctly, you seem to hate pc gaming for some reason.
Anyway... going to check this demo out, was definitally interested in this game since i've seen the first gameplay video of it. Though I've never been a huge fan of this series of games, this one looks rather good.

Dang, no edit button. Typo above. Oh well.

I'm not a fanperson since I also have a Wii. But at least with my PS3 I have FAR more than a bunch of childish shooters. I mean 360 has zero good exclusives that don't involve simply running and shooting everything. How boring is that? I's why I find no reason to own one. I find it odd that people do, especially when those laughable choices are what you use to defend your choice of console...
Besides, as we all know if it's truly worth anything it will probably be ported to PS3 to reach the larger userbase, just like Bioshock, GTA DLC, and so on. I doubt I'll play it though until these games support M/KB like they're supposed to. Or maybe the Move controller will prove better than the analogs for this genre.

It was okay. mark and execute makes gameplay too simple. I thought I would have to do more than one stealth kill to earn such a reward. This mechanic will end up being a crutch and no one will actually learn to be stealthy.

Hey PS3 Fanboys, shouldn't you be out playing your PS3 exclusives (God of War III/Heavy Rain) and let those with 360s enjoy an opportunity to enjoy one of ours? Seriously. And why not own both consoles at this point? That way you won't have to hate on the Microsoft guys and you can play Mass Effect, Fable, Splinter Cell, Halo, and all the other awesome 360 exclusives.

the loss of color when im hidden was kind of distracting at first but after a while i got used to it, I like the fact that it has a lot of check points this way your not always replaying like 10 min of gameplay cus you decided to take a risk.

PS3 fanboys, no need to troll the post. Ubisoft has always been very close to Microsoft. This exclusive comes as no surprise. PS3 has great exclusives, so does 360. Let's get on with our lives and enjoy it to the fullest.

While I thought that the game looked great and the controls were cool and inventive, I am curious to see how these mechanics will fare over the course of the full game. I found there were some interesting parallels with Batman: Arkham Asylum, a game which, in my opinion, creatively varied the game play to keep it vital for the duration of the experience. Will the story and the design allow for a similar rich experience? I guess we'll know in less than a month.

Available to XBL Gold members only? Thanks Microsoft! Guess I'll put my XBox back into hibernation and turn the PS3 back on.

too short, and tbh - it kind of reminds me of arkham asylum now that its slightly more action orientated rather than hiding in shadows

Nice double news post. JK should post "FIRST!" on his article below. Now how long until the rumors start flying about how JK is gunning for PK's job? :/

Hmm..I'm kind of confused as to why Splinter Cell moved over to Microsoft. They were having success with Sony and I know I would have bought it if it was released on PS3. A dual system release would have been nice. Well, it's a sad day for Sam Fischer... :(

Visually stunning. Story doesn't seem intriguing. Gameplay sucks.

Uh, Patrick, Jeffery K. already beat you to this.
