We were enthusiastically optimistic about The Conduit, so even though it didn't shape up the way we wanted it to, I absolutely made sure to make time to visit with our friends at High Voltage Software at this year's GDC. This time out, they were showing their fighting game, Tournament of Legends (formerly Gladiator A.D.), and The Grinder, which has been completely re-invented as a Hunter: The Reckoning-style action game versus a first-person shooting gallery. More to come on that so look for those previews soon, but what caught my eye was that in the demo room there was a poster on the back wall. And on the poster, in a Conduit-esque font, was a giant 2. No date, no title, just the 2.
So my first instinct was to ask the designer giving the demo, "is that your subtle way of teasing the next Conduit game?" To which he laughed and said, "There's more to come on that!" I asked to take a picture, but was told politely that I could not. No one was willing to confirm that this was indeed a tease for The Conduit 2 when asked, but the sly grins said a mouthful.
We'll be keeping a close eye on this one. Stay tuned!

The Conduit was a cool game with a weak story. Hopefully they figure out a better story line with the sequel and they add some cooler weapons and more open level design. They also need to make the aliens more threatening. I think High Voltage can pull this off since they've abandoned the FPS GRINDER they FN said they were going to make! But the Grinder could of been awesome. Who doesn't want to shoot vampires, werewolves and monsters?

well the end of the game hinted a sequel so why not?

i hope it come out and only on wii its hard to find good wii games i have been a nintendo fan since 1990 and i have had every nintendo console ever made i was a little diapointed with the wii and had to cheat on nintendo and i have alway hated any thing sony so i had to go with 360 (i feel dirty) i want to go back to the old days of N64 and game like perfect dark and golden eye at the time they were the only games 4 friend could blow the crap out of each other and it was only on nintendo 64 the golden year of nintendo

I hope this is true, since I really enjoyed The Conduit and I think people are way too harsh on the game. Also, I am pretty upset for their boneheaded move with The Grinder. What 360 owner wouldn't want a 4 player online coop FPS in the spirit of Left 4 Dead. They had to go and ruin that so I guess The Conduit 2 is all we have left.

I loved The Conduit and would buy a sequel for sure.

If they fix the shotty online mode and start banning modders, then i'll be on board. The Conduit's online mode is worthless unless you do private matches and tournaments are getting increasingly more difficult to organize (just look here and you'll see what i mean> conduit.johndm.com )

Last time they were focused on the tech behind the game. Hopefully in the sequel they'll be able to flex their creative muscles since the tech is already there. I'm willing to give High Voltage another chance. If the Wii version of The Grinder is going to be a top-down shooter (it probably is), then we'll definitely need a good FPS.

honestly i lost faith in high voltage, the grinder went multiplatform which sucks it couldve been a great wii exclusive as for tournament of legend it that game now looks kiddy and theres no online play so wtf highvoltage. but if they keep this wii exclusives and extend the single player and keep the online than this should be promising.

Motion plus and a little more extreme storyline and weapons would be nice i.e. what I think they're doing with the character going into the conduit to the alien place to whoop some alien @$$ and the cricket gun from MIB would be a funny reference

if High Voltage is smart they'll keep it with the Wii. The Conduit, despite its sales numbers, has a big following oh Wii.

Hopefully they will expand this game in multiple ways. For those of you asking for this game to come on the PS3 Move, piss off the Wii barely has libary of good 1st person shooters let alone exclusive ones.

Why even try?

i agree with Johnny! i hate that way of turning in wii games,i wish the Moveh had an analog non the main controller aswell

I was not impressed with the Conduit and it was actually one of the tipping points towards my trading the Wii in against a PS3 slim, because I am convinced that the Wii will never see a good FPS. I really (really) hated the way you had to steer with the pointer. It looks to me like Move has the same limitations. They really should have put a thumbstick on the main controller as well as the sub-controller.

Yeah PS3 is supreme, really.
Found a good recap of GDC 2010 here too:

Yeah I was wondering the same thing, was the conduit developed by a third party dev or Nintendo. If was third party I don't see as too unlikely we'll see it come to the PS3
SizzlewickMagicfart
it would be cool if this made its way onto the ps3 now that it has Move!
