You know what's better than one Feedback in a given week? Try two Feedbacks! And we're not talking about just doubling up with another in-studio edition either. I'm talking about a super special on location field trip edition of Feedback from the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco! Do we treat you right, or what?

Feedback Fieldtrip -- GDC 2010 Edition »

On this special Field Trip version of Feedback Adam Sessler, Abbie Heppe, Andrew Pfister and Patrick Klepek share their thoughts on:

  • Sony’s newly named PlayStation Move motion controller: Should Sony have put a bigger emphasis on built-from-the-ground-up Move games, instead of touting how well Zipper Interactive was able to graft on motion controls to SOCOM 4?
  • Heavy Rain is selling well: We’re a little surprised, but it’s definitely encouraging. What could this mean for the future of interactive fiction?
  • Best of Show: What games did the G4 crew come away from GDC 2010 most excited about?

As far as the lightsaber game goes...I will literally go to Sony HQ and smash everything there with a stolen Move controller if they don't put a demo of using the Move controller in the upcoming Star Wars Force Unleashed 2. Two lightsabers + 2 Move controllers.....EPIC.

Very good Feedback what with the meat cleaver mini-games, and the jello, and the pudding pops.

I've heard a lot of cool ideas for the Move on here, I'm interested to see what happens with that.

The play station move best game could be a Star Wars Jedi academy game. With the obvious light saber and blaster elements in post episode 6 novel environmental setting.

The biggest threat to interactive story telling or more generally videogames as art -- are the consoles cycles, DRM, or initiatives like OnLive where your game can just disappear instantly. If games want to become art forms, they need longevity. They need to be permanent.

@Meatball_Mamba That would be awesome! I missed out on it because I wasn't gonna buy a Wii for that one game I would play so it being on the playstaion 3 would be great. It would be even better if I didn't have to buy the PS Move which I feel is ridiculous. They technically already have a motion controller withthe six axis so why not just make an upgrade for that instead.

Great feedback! I for one am looking forward to ps. move. Really interested in Motion Fighters. A light saber game would be awesome. I really doubt this would happen but I think it'd be cool to use ps. move in heavenly sword...particularly in parts where you have to use kai and her bow. I can see them incorporating this into games like high velocity bowling and pain...just look at the slingshot, maybe ps move can also be used as a cue in hustle kings

The safer bet is to make Move an option for hardcore games and not the standard. Game companies should not force gamers to do something they do not want. Sony needs to be very cautious.

Attention to does of you who have vaginas on your back!! Abbie is hot, we know it, the guys at G4 know, Hell, Abbie knows she is hot!! Can you all now shut the hell up because this is probably making her uncomfortable. How many times do you have to repeat it. If you are horny, go watch Sasha Grey or other adult actors, that is their jobs. We come here to watch game news not to make Abbie uncomfortable. Maybe that was why she went on vacation.

John Woos Stranglehold was the greatest game I have ever played.

But what is the name of that Korean game? I am guessing its only on the pc b/c koreans don't like consoles.

I was very intrigued by the Heavy Rain demo and ended up picking up a copy of it today. Can't wait to play the full game. The PS Move looks interesting; it has some potential. It really does seem to have great precision which is a huge plus. Lucas Arts would be crazy to not make a Star Wars game with Move compatibility. Not looking forward to the extra controllers or the price to buy it. If it becomes popular, expect a lot of the same crapware third party games like you see on the Wii.

I feel the Playstaion Move will deliver for the more hardcore however, I wonder if the PS3 will surpass the Wii Motion+ in terms of delivering a true 1:1 experiance for motion control. Personally it'll be a while until I jump on the whole motion control bandwagon. There hasn't been anything from Playstion Move, Wii Motion, and Natal that has shown me that I should switch to motion controls. I feel the same way about 3D TV's, in that I know one day that it'll surpass the current standard, however as of this moment it kind of seems irrelevent. Can't wait to see how all three motion systems evolve in the coming years, and how they captivate new individuals to come join the gaming experiance.
