Motion Fighters GDC 2010 Interview

Posted March 12, 2010 - By Jake Gaskill

If you’re going to introduce a new motion controller, a boxing game is an absolute must. Enter Sony’s PlayStation Move-powered, street brawler Motion Fighters (which is most likely just a working title for now). G4’s resident fisticuffs menace Patrick Klepek caught up with Sony Europe producer John McLaughlin during GDC 2010 to find out more details about the game.

“What’s cool is we can do those smaller gestures, and that will be replicated on screen. You full punch in real life, that will be replicated on screen. So pretty much, treat it like a real life fight, if you’re ever in that position; really fight, and you’ll win in the game. And because we’ve got the PlayStation Eye as well, we can head track, we detect your bobbing, your weaving, your crouching as well.”
