People still buy the ps2s en masse in other countrys because they can get pirated versions of the games practically free, like $1 US. Plus systems like the ps3 and 360 are really hard to get a hold of in some countrys.

How come people always say the PS3 is dominating the 360 in sales? The 360 sold better on both jan feb and december, except for 3 months after the slim where the PS3 outsold the 360 by a slim margin.

I don't see any domination here.

Why would someone buy a ps2? If they were smart they could get a little bit more money and buy a PS3 or a 360.

I'm not sure Heavy Rain can manage to get back on the top five next month with God of War, FF 13 and maybe BF:BC 2 coming out this month.

Wow the Xbox 360 beat out the Wii, expect Ps3 to take reign for only next month due to God of War

I am surely happy that Heavy Rain sold as much as it did with a lot of the other titles had nearly the whole month to get sales. I suspect some good numbers for it in March as well. The real good news out of that just means we may get more risky titles such as that, or at the very least another one by Qauntic Dreams.

Very happy to see how well Heavy Rain sold. Selling about 220K for being released in the last week of the month is spectacular. Hope the momentum continues into March. Also can anyone tell me WTF is Just Dance?

Dante's Inferno sold better on the PS3 over 360 eh? That is surprising considering God of War is coming out next week and this was suppose to the the "360 substitute" for GoW.

    Few suprises I see:

    1) Bioshock 2 for PS3 didn't even make the list so less than 200K sold, but 360 version sells over 550K.
    2) Xbox 360 outsells the Wii for that month with seemingly no real huge reason. No major price drops or anything. I guess the big exclusive title Mass Effect 2 really pushed sales.
    3) Heavy Rain managed to sell 220K in the 4 days it was on store shelves in February. That's pretty amazing for such a risky game and that time of year, i'd call that a win and assume it's March numbers will be very solid as well.
    4) How about the PS2 huh? Been out for 10 years and still selling over 100K systems a month? Wow...

Well a lot of it is predictable, after all Bioshock 2 was sure to be a hit and New Super Mario Bros Wii has been selling well for months, but I'm surprised that Dante's Inferno sold more copies than Heavy Rain. There seemed to be quite a bit of hype about Heavy Rain, and from what I hear it's much better than Dante's Inferno.

It's kinda odd that Heavy Rain is at the bottom of the list here, but at the top in Europe. I think it's more on the difference of the culture between the US and say France or England
