Hey Green Day fans, grab a pen and flip your calendars to June, because I have some mark-inducing info for you. That’s right. Green Day: Rock Band now has an official release date – June 8.
Similar to Harmonix and MTV Games’ previous The Beatles: Rock Band, the Green Day version will feature tons of unlockable band images and nearly an hour of rare and unreleased interviews and performances.
The game will include 47 tracks spanning the band’s career from "Brain Stew" to "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," each of which will be playable with three-part harmonies. Also, all of the songs will be exportable to Rock Band 1, 2, and 3. The Green Day tracks that are already available as DLC will be playable in the new game and will include all of the new gameplay and presentation elements.
Green Day: Rock Band will run you $59.99 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and $49.99 on Wii. There will also be a special edition that will feature “Special packaging,” track export key and the six DLC tracks already available, all for $69.99.

o come on everyone is hating on Greenday. 1st off you guys are mad that your still playing rockband and dont have any talent in playing real instruments. 2nd i personlly dont care who gets their own rock band they just need to add a whole lot more bands to the game in general. I love rock band and i think its cool

I'm hopeful w/ this. Just hope that most of '21st Century Breakdown' is absent.

I guess I like Green Day and I hope it includes some Foxboro Hot Tubs, but I can't see buying a new game for them...In fact, I thought this was already out and I was just ignoring it like the various specific band Guitar Hero games...

Rock Band Green Day could be interesting, so I'm reserving judgement on it for the moment. One thing I am somewhat concerned about is the state of the animations. Granted, this is (hopefully) an early(ish) build, so these issues may be fixed, but it is still a worry. For the sake of the game, I hope the team pours some care and love into the production of the game and doesn't pull a cynical "fast one" for a quick buck. I do listen to Green Day and somewhat enjoy it, so this may be worth a try. I do think it may be a bit overpriced though. Track packs/DLC may have been the way to go. However, if this turns out to be a top-notch game, it'll be worth it.
For those too lazy to read that mess, I'm reserving judgement, hope it's good, and wish they'd clean up those animations

Greenday dlc only, please. it's like a bad dream; theses games wont die. hey! is there a U2 or RHCP rock band in the works?(probably)

How many modern day bands can support a Rock Band game?? Only Green Day. Out of ALL the bands from the 90's they're the only ones left. You say you want RATM or Sublime but they don't have the catalog or amount of hit songs Green Day has. Led Zepp wont make a game, Pink Floyd wont make a game (though I think there music is good but to slow to be really interesting), and Arrowsmith the game sucked. Green Day: Rock Band makes just as much sense as Beatles: Rock Band. If you think about all the Green Day songs that they still play on the radio (15 different songs) and how many other songs they play from other bands: Nirvana (4) Sublime (3) Blink 182 (5) and so on... Green Day make a lot of sense.

Will I get trophies for proper mascara application?

I totally want this, but I think I will wait until it goes half price. I would have bought it if it were like the AC/DC game, but this is full-priced. Too much for a band I don't really care about. Yeah, it would be fun playing American Idiot or Boulevard of Broken Dreams, but I would rather use this money towards other DLC for bands I really like.

Well for those of us who actually like the band, this is great news. If we were going to download all those 47 songs as DLC, it would probably cost the same anyway.

If you look in the Battle of Los Angeles booklet(the first place I noticed it) and all the other cds it says something like "all sounds were preformed on guitar, bass, drums and vocals". Tom Morello scratches on the guitar strings to make what sounds like turntables. They might have used turntables on Renegades but that was a cover cd with some songs actually being performed with the original artists.

I get tired of hearing all this "Zeppelin should get their own RB game" crap!!! Someone explain to me why Green Day is getting their own game and not Pink Floyd? They have the library and if Harmonix can do the Beatles justice with the visuals, imagine would they could do with a Floyd based game?
Battlefields
I'm actually gonna get this but just cause all my gear's broke

I'm a Rockband fan, but I will pass on this. Much like how I passed on the Beatles. If I wanted to buy multiple versions of a game I would have bought Guitar Hero 1-1000. Epic fail, Harmonix. And how the heck is there DLC already available if the game isn't out?
permanent_nirvana
Aerosmith, Metallica, and The Beatles. All great bands who deserve their own game.
But Green Day??? Come on now, Green Day is a great band in their own right but.... Green Day??
Until Rock Band or Guitar Hero comes out with a game devoted to a group who actually deserves it (Led Zeppelin is the only one who comes to mind) then music based games shall remain dead to me.

I think they are giving this the best possible chance, what with the harmonies, exporting, and special edition with 6 extra songs
