Last night at GDC 2010, the final character in Super Street Fighter IV was revealed: His name is Hakan, and he's... odd. Hakan is a orange-bodied, blue-haired Turkish wrestler who enjoys applying oil to his body and sliding opponents all over the place before slamming them into the ground and murderizing them. It's pretty weird.
"In the history of Street Fighter, there's always been a lot of wacky and unusual characters," Super Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono told us. "We settled on Turkish wrestling because these guys literally douse themselves in oil, grappling with each other. It's such a unique and relatively unknown fighting style."
Super Street Fighter IV will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems April 27, 2010, so stock up on the baby oil! And check out our Hakan gallery. There's a trailer of the man in action below the cut, in solo scene and fighting with Juri.

I can't believe this character is going to be in the game instead of an old SFA or SF3 favorite. God, I would have loved to see tons of other characters before this one. Urien, Q, Gill as a secret boss, Karin, Rainbow Mika, Charlie, Necro, Yung, Yang, Hugo and Remy. I would have preferred Bob the Canadian drunk uncle that throws beer bottles as projectiles and uses the terrible Nutcracker Ultra which consists of kicking the enemy in the junk with steel work boots as a joke character instead of Hakan.

i would've like more new characters like hakan and juri in the game as opposed to having the likes of dan, guy and cody in the game. also, i was hoping capcom got over its trend of releasing different mixes of the same title. i've been a capcom fan for ages and was uber po'ed that the orginal street fighter 4 didn't have what super has. the return of bonus stages. a bigger roster.

I love this concept - Hakan exemplifies the international flare and charm that SF is all about. By far the best comedic character in the franchise, sorry Dan fans. They could only be topped in douchey comedic value if SF were to alter Rufus into a wanabe American MMA fighter, just throw on some trunks, cauliflower ears, add an insane amount of crappy tattoos, a bad haircut and voila! you have the ultimate joke Street Fighter character ever!

I KNEW IT! But I watched video's and he's a joke character... I though he would be more like Able mixed with Zangief.... His Supers Look Dumb. But Now I Want SSFIV Even MORE!

I wonder if like the real Turkish oil wrestlers, will he actually stick his hands down some dudes pants for leverage and pin him while holding his junk? I am not being gross but this is how this stuff works. There was a show with a football player where he traveled the world trying out different sports and this was most likely the worst one.
