As someone who doesn't actually make games, attending GDC panels can at times be a gamble. The description for the panel might sound really interesting, but if you've failed to note that it's targeted at people who understand the code that makes games works, that's a problem.
I made that mistake today with the Epic Games panel discussing Unreal Engine 3 on the iPhone. The picture above is just a small snippet of a 30-minute presentation that consisted of slide after slide of code, references to code and jokes about code. Code, code, code, code, code.
My brain just melted.

I would've loved to be at that presentation, despite the fact that I know very little C++. Regardless, I would've had a field day. :P

I picture Patrick getting up during the presentation. Everyone turns around, Patrick shuffles nervously. "Yeah I'll ahem be right back for this fun part of our day."

as an engineer/programmer ive always been told for presentations to never show a line of code. maybe its different for video game presentations

With your brain turning to mush on the VA flight and melting during the GDC panel, this trip sounds hazardous to your health.
I have always disregarded the warnings on video games about seizures and neurological effects, but this makes me think there may be something to them...

Would G4TV/X-play will post GDC panel videos like they did with DICE?

As someone who makes games I wish I could see more of the presentation.
