Next week we all finally get our hands on one of the most anticipated action games in recent memory, God of War III. Of course, a few lucky people around the office have already played it, and Adam Sessler is one of those lucky few. Long story short, he really enjoyed it. Find out exactly what The Sess loved about the latest from Sony's Santa Monica Studios and why he thinks God of War III might set a new standard for pacing in video games today.
Check out Adam's full review of God of War III right here.

I'm unbelievably excited to play GOW3, but I'm even more excited by the notion of Santa Monica working on an entirely new IP. Will it be an action game again? Maybe a racing game or an adventure game? Whatever they do next, I have enough confidence in the studio to know that it's going to blow me away. I wish I didn't have to wait so long to find out about it.

I have been waiting for God of War 3 the second I finished playing God of War 2. Meaning that I have been waiting for about 3 years for this awesome game. I can't wait to pick this up in a week. I bought the Ultimate Edition which means I get a Pandora's Box which I look forward to opening. One last thing: I CAN"T WAIT!!! OMG!!!

I definitely have a hard time eating when am caught up in gaming....not a good thing, but I cant seem to stop to eat. and GOW 3 among other great PS3 titles are going to wear me thin.
Great soapbox Sir.

I agree with LITERALLY every thing that you said especially video games in underwear. I love that relaxation in a video game because I do use them to escape reality and to make me more relaxed.

PS3 Exclusives FTW! They make Adam leave his wife in his underwear. Thnx for the haunting imagerey.

Wow that person playing on the screen behind Adam freaking sucks.

Adan didn't needed to dodge a bullet, the bullet dodge himself.

I didn't have any doubt that GoW 3 would rock. Anything that is paced like Uncharted 2 is great with me. That game rocked. Mass Effect 2 also sucked me right back in. I'm on my second play through right now, it was just that good. I've got a week to hurry up and finish GoW 2! I can't wait for all of the true hi-def mutilations!

Adam, you give the time of the Sony press conference, but what's the date???
Stealthmaster86
Damn Adam you dodged a MASSIVE bullet.

Glad you enjoyed your time Adam. I'm not huge on action titles, even less so on GoW, so I doubt I'll buy it. Knowing the way things go for me around here though I'm sure I'll find someone I know buying it so I can at least borrow if I run out of material. :P

This game looks and has always looked amazing. I'm pretty shure I will be replaying this game for a long time.

God of war 3 is a game that was meant to be played over and over again. Not just because of trophies but because of the experience. The entertainment value you get is so important and so interactive that no movies can compare to that experience. At $60 apop this game is gonna be worth its value and then some.Adam really it on the mark when he said the pacing is what makes a good game.Replay should'nt just be for a harder difficulty but the reward in the experience of a good game.

Wow... need to change your pants after that one Sessler? You got a little excited, just checking. Ummm I never cared for the first two but this one has peeked my interest to pick those up and play through this latest installment. Thanks for the reviews, they help me make informed decissions!

Just one week away now! This is probably one the most antisipated games in recent history. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

i agree with you adam... i believe a game is good if all you want to do is play it as soon as you beat it... i have had that happen with bioshock, assassins creed 2, and mass effect

I definately agree. The sense of not knowing what is going to happen is one of the reasons why I play games. Games like Mario, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance; all of them thrive off of simply being able to throw something completely off the wall at another wall where it may not at first seem like it belongs. The mark of a good game is making it work. Anyways, I can't wait to play God of War III. It looks awesome and the news that Rip Torn is in it puts it into a whole new level of epic awesomeness. Did anyone else get the mental image of Hephaestus throwing dodgeballs at Kratos when they heard this news. No? Well... I did. :)

Games don't have to have a free-world-feel to them in order for you to put more hours into them. The Game has to play fresh and rewarding with each action you perform. You have to get a sense of accomplishment and these new games are honing these attributes. It's like they've studied the great theatrical masterpieces of our times, these epic blockbuster movies that gathered wide audiences, who responded in awe, and have incorporated similar elements into the games. Obviously, the graphics have improved which gives a sense of limitless potential to producers and every game developer's imagination. So much is happening so fast!
