While you’ll still have to pick up a copy of this month’s Official Xbox Magazine to get all of the high-res details about Bodycount -- the next shooter from the team behind the bullet fest Black -- Codemasters has released a few choice bits of info and two screens that should hold you over until you can pick up a copy of the magazine.
For starters, everyone knows how technically impressive Black was, so it’s understandable that Bodycount will also be built upon tech (the EGO Game Technology Platform to be exact) designed to push next-gen hardware, and the FPS genre, to its limits.
"From the jaw-dropping devastation caused by firing into enemies or shredding the world around you in a hail of bullets, Bodycount will crystallize that moment of pulling the trigger into an exhilarating sensory overload of action,” Bodycount’s executive producer Tom Gillo said in a statement.
The game’s creative director Stuart Black says Bodycount "is absolutely centered on the bullet and its impact on the world.” And from the sound of it, there will be more than enough bullets to tear apart entire game maps, and wave after wave of unfortunate enemies, in all manner of ridiculous ways.
Bodycount is scheduled for release in early 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
