One of the most highly anticipated holidays of the year is right around the corner, and G4 has a whole schedule in place to allow you to enjoy your 4/20 celebration in just the right way. There's a whole slate of goo-friendly films for you to watch, coupled with an all-new Attack of the Show Hawaii celebration that promises to put the lava back in your lamp. It's so big that it's going to spill over into the morning of the 21st, because you're going to need to take it easy and relax after such a long day.
So, what are we showing for the celebration? Good question. Here's the schedule:

Meh. I stopped thinking 420 was super cool after I graduated. I might smoke on 420 but I'm not going to go out of my way since I dont smoke nearly as much as I once did. Ah, growing up, its funny how things change. I do love Half Baked and Dazed and Confused though.

While Bottle Rocket is one of my all time favorite films, and it does have a little "MJ' in it, it is hardly a stoner flick. Bong Water (also starring a young Luke Wilson) would have been a better fit.
Don't get me wrong, I am for any excuse to play 'Bottle Rocket' on national TV.

The network execs couldn't find more movies than that? I mean, there must be at least 40 stoner movies to pick from made in the past 30 years, and you guys repeat 2? You guys realize that the so called "studies" that started the false rumors of pot ruining your memory was perpetuated in the 90's government ad campaigns by the same people that tried to say in the 50's it would make you insane and murderous don't you? I'm guessing that it is either supposed to be joke on a tired cliche, or just lack of licensing, but seriously, not even "Totally Baked" (not a sequel to Half-Baked), no Cheech and Chong, Bong Water, Tail Lights Fade, Grass, Jay and Silent Bob movies, and on and on....... Many themed movies to choose from that shouldn't cost a lot to get licensing for (especially Totally Baked, which was an independent mock film of the legal and moral issues, and is very funny - found it on hulu, and netflix online).
And seriously, if some of you are going to attack G4 for playing something themed for any holiday, then lets take down all Christmas, Halloween, Valentines, Easter, etc... themed movies too. Not every day of programming is geared at you specifically. Other people have different tastes, lets try to respect that!
Finally, the last thing anyone should do is complain about the "ill-effects" of pot while WATCHING TV or PLAYING VIDEOGAMES!!! If you think that people should only do whats "healthy", then throw out your video games, televisions, sodas, fatty foods, sugar, spices, pollution causing car, and anything else that wastes your time or could be "unhealthy" when you could be working. Meanwhile, I'm going to get some enjoyment out of the only life I get, and since I can't even get a lot of the enjoyment that I used to (I'm disabled from my days in the Army and can't WALK anymore), I'll enjoy my life the few ways I have left. Now spark it and pass, please.
PS. I don't aprove of ANYONE taking ANY SUBSTANCE and getting behind the wheel. Getting high via any substance does not remove your responsibilities of being aware when other people's lives are at risk! So spark up, but do it at home, or get a designated driver, please!

This is why I barely watch the G4 network. I watch it for videogames and electronics. Not Weed,Cheaters,Cops, or over muscled douche bags destroying stuff. This looks bad on G4's part.
They should focus more on making G4 more about videogames and electronics.

Hey, remember when G$ was about video games and related topics? This station has really faded in it's quality. Most days consist of filler tv shows (cops, cheaters) and a couple of days every year they promote crap like the drug and porn industry with their expo coverage and specials. What a bunch of sale outs. Good job G4, you are the Nickelback of television networks.

If any of you stoners get the chance you should read the book Reefer Madness. It's by the guy who wrote Fast Food Nation and it really opened my eyes to the drug laws in the U.S. (and has a nice section about the porn industry)

As the occasionally smoker, I would like to point out that overall, smoking weed is very poor for your health. It is potentially cancer causing, and damages memory.
For all of the people that are complaining about G4's coverage of 420, you were the one that decided to read this article in the news feed, G4 did not force you to click the link
And if you're worried about the programming on 420, you'll be missing Cheaters and Cops which sucks anyway.

i say this as a person who has smoked for about 9 years now: i hate the drug culture.
the whole drug(420 celebrating, plaster your walls with bob marley posters, while listening to grateful dead on repeat and discussing w/ your equally lame friends how marijuana expands your mind)crowd. are just embarrassing to the average person who gets high.
not only is 420 a pointless "holiday", devoid of any real meaning. it perpetuates the cliche "stoner" stereotypes most responsible marijuana users have been working to do away with. it's things like 420 that drive the idea that all marijuana users are lazy, apathetic, high school drop outs w/ no future.

I would like to see them review PC hardware components like the new Nvid 480 but they will NOT unless it's in some over priced $5k full setup but you don't see me crying about it.
Cannabis is just one of the many things that the American populace is being BLATANTLY lied to about, food is another and oil is yet another along with big pharm drugs, religion, credit, loans, the profit/monetary system, the compulsory school system, pollution ...etc
The more Cannabis is normalized in the public eye the better but sometimes the portrayal of "stoners" I think can possibly be a step backwards, though funny.
