While we wait for the first details on Valve's much-anticipated Portal 2 to drop via magazine covers, online retailer GameStop has already spoiled a major new feature: two-player co-op. The official description for Portal 2 reveals the sequel will have the much-desired feature.
"Coming this holiday. Portal 2 is the sequel to 2007's Game of the Year and draws from the award-winning formula of innovative game play, story, and music that earned the original over 70 industry accolades. Features single and multiplayer co-op modes. The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game. The game’s two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively."
I was already excited for Portal 2. Now I'm this much more excited for Portal 2.
Thanks to user CPZ for the tip!

VALVE has always been heavily focused toward the PC. If you don't like it then buy a PC and quit whining.

Why must valve hate my PS3.

I love it. Every bit of it. Even the crunchy outer-shell. This will be fantastic. I can't to delve into more mind-bending puzzles and understated humor.I can still sing every verse of the Portal song. And no, that's not at all sad to me.

this will either be full of awesome sauce or extremely frustrating, depending on who you play it with

This is going to be such a must have I think my spleen is cramping in anticipation. 2010 may turn out to be the most epic year for gaming since . . . well, ever.

Looks like Valve's not doing a Ps3 version as usual, maybe EA will do a terrible port again.

Portal 1=Awesome
Half Life 2=Awesome (definitely one of my favorite FPS experiences so far. The story was just so immense and engaging).
Team Fortress=Awesome

Awesome! Portal rocks, I can't wait to see what they do with co-op.

I liked the co-op addition but I dont know if to many of my friends would get into it. I only have about two friends that are really into gaming(the rest are pretty casual gamers or not gamers at all) and I'm not sure if they are as open to weird titles as I am.

On one hand I'm happy to be getting any information about Valve's much-anticipated sequel. However, I'm annoyed that it is in this manner - a Gamestop preorder page - rather than an official announcement by Valve which perhaps would have been accompanied by more 'stuff' like features, story, gameplay videos, anything to hype up fans as an initial official announcement does.
So way to go Valve and way to spoil the announcement for me Gamespot.
