It was supposed to be a busy release season for Take-Two Interactive in the first half of 2010, but the delay-prone publisher has seen many of its major releases pushed out of that window. Take-Two is now saying that Mafia II, L.A. Noire, Max Payne 3 and Civilization V are all now planned for release between August 1 and October 31, aka the company's fourth quarter.
Take-Two did leave wiggle room for one game to be delayed outside of that window, however, and given Take-Two's track record on delays, it wouldn't be a surprise if that happened.
"The Company's fiscal year 2010 guidance reflects the potential movement of one of these titles into fiscal 2011," reads a statement in the company's first quarter fiscal 2010 results.
A movement into fiscal 2011 does not necessarily mean a release in 2011. Whatever game is moved out of the August to October window could still be released in November or December.
