The Playstation 3 24-hour blockage has made the big time. And by "big time" I mean The Onion posted a satirical article about it. Today, The Onion posed this to three "random" men/women on the street: "A programming bug in Sony's PlayStation 3 caused error messages to crop up this week, and the manufacturer urged owners not to use the gaming console for 24 hours. What do you think?"
My favorite answer:
"Yeah, my son was pretty p*ssed. My son is the head of PlayStation, incidentally."

So this at least proves that people are playing their PS3's (yes I had to turn mine off) but what no one realizes is that Nintendo has had to do this three or four times, you know why no one is talking about it... Because NO ONE IS PLAYING THE Wii. I have not used mine since...Wii Sports Resort?, and before that Super Mario Galaxy...I guess we will all have to wait for Galaxy 2, Metroid, and Zelda before it is safe to turn our Wii's back on. (its a shame.)

I thought it was a hardware issue that caused it???
The ARM chip, or something like that. At least, that's what Engadget and Joystiq is saying.

It sooo was Sonys fault overlooking this issue!
BUT... the fact is, it was a software issue,
Not hardware one... way diffrent!
Any other time your not online you can play those games without trophy sync problems.
This to me was a very small glitch that just got googled a lot, and was fixed very quickly.

I don't think it's Sony's fault. Bill Gates probably dropped an EMP on Sony's headquarters and when he deployed chopper gunners to take out Bill's men, he discovered they had cold blooded on. It was just a little oversight :)

@Gambit1023 - You're right... a worldwide glitch that bricked PS3s to the point that they couldn't even play non-online games for 24 hours is no big deal. Nor is the fact that Sony handled the issue so ineptly. We should probably all move on now and focus on something that doesn't hurt your PS3 fanboy feelings.

Can we possibly make a bigger deal out of this? There was a glitch, it was fixed, time to move on. I think Bill Gates is behind all of this media attention myself...anything to deflect his RROD fiasco.

I think we can move on now...seriously!

The guy who said the quote in this article's job was "Neck Cutter."
What?

Not that I don't think that The Onion is funny, but its like that article was the last thing one of their writers had to do before they could go home, hence the poor effort in being funny. Their coverage on the Ninja Parade still cracks me up though.

"I couldn't drive my Toyota or use my PlayStation, so I just called up my Grandpa and complained about the Japanese with him."
thats kinda funny.

Mildly funny but not up to par with most Onion content.
Check out the "Modern Warfare 3" News video. Thats funny.

On the PS3 clock bug I think I've seen funnier things on message boards.
