I've obtained an internal memo penned by Activision Publishing president and CEO Mike Griffith that just released to Activision employees at the same time as the press release about the future of Infinity Ward and Call of Duty. It's largely the same as the release that's available in detail here, but there's a key distinction in the internal memo: Activision mentions Infinity Ward's future with Call of Duty.
Even though Infinity Ward studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella are now confirmed to have left the company, Activision says Infinity Ward is "central to Call of Duty's future."
"Jason West and Vince Zampella are no longer with Infinity Ward," explained Griffith, reiterating what we now publicly know. "Infinity Ward remains central to Call of Duty's future and we rely on the combined talent, expertise and leadership of the team there for its success."
That seems to suggest Infinity Ward is on-board for more Call of Duty. Whether that's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 or something else remains to be seen. Infinity Ward might not even know yet.

I think it will be good to have some fresh minds on the COD series but they don't need to change to much there is no need to fix whats not broken. Also let IW make MW3 let them end an great series with a bang like add cars.

Anybody else think EA sees this as a Godsend? Now al they have to do is sit back and wait for Activision to slaughter the COD franchise and franchises like Battlefield and Medal of Honor are going to move right in,

Quite frnakly I Don't Care if these guys get fired. im sure that they had a important part in making Mw2 Frekin awsome and i love them for that. But as long as the IW Call of Duty's are still good, which don't worry they will,i really don't care if those guys are involved. I mean common people lets be real Activision is not the mega-publisher that they are for being stupid. They will not mess up the IW COD's because they amke millions, and Activision will make millions. Maybe West and Zampella will make thier own independent studio and then we the consumer can get more great games!! So maybe in the end this is a win for everyone.

DRAMA! I wonder what else is going to happen this week? It's like we're following a made for TV movie movie starring Sally Fields. I bet Bobby Kotick is going to announce he's resigning and is going to run an 'Over-Eaters Anonymous' support group by the end of the week. MARK. MY. WORDS.

If Activision doesn't go ahead with a Modern Warfare 3 and IW ISN'T the studio working on it... IT WILL SUCK!!! I refuse to buy a Treyarch Call of Duty game

I think it is a scary thing when you start seeing game Publishers treating their situations like a banking problem... This seems more align with BOA/Meryl Lynch playbook. Please game industry, keep my industry culture and playbook away from my favorite form of entertainment. Last thing I want to see is a the homogenization of devs/IP's and the industry as a whole. THIS is a trend toward that end, and I really hope it doesn't happen more often then this.

I'm sure there are plenty of internal arguments on the glitches/hacks and mods. I would hate to be a part of this dev team, only because the game is horribly glitchy and kid friendly. no tactics needed.

I don't like this set up. don't like it at all.

We all know what really happened, IW did not want to be forced to make a game they did not want to make right away. But Pimp like Activision wants another billion dollars from MW3 so they fired anyone who apposed producing MW3 and left them in the dust at nearly a decade of service.
The CoD serious as we have known it is dead, they will milk this series into the ground. This proves it right here, Activision controls their companys based on money reasons alone, not because of what is best for said game.
