Activision: Modern Warfare 2 Could Be Biggest

The future of Infinity Ward might be determined in the next few hours.

I'm told by a source close to the studio that Activision CEO Bobby Kotick will address the development leads at Infinity Ward in a meeting in just a few minutes -- noon, to be exact.

It's unclear what the meeting will be about, but it is likely related to the apparent departure of Infinity Ward studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West, as discovered earlier today.

After Kotick and company's meeting with the leads at Infinity Ward, there will be a second meeting addressing the studio as a whole. The details of that meeting are also unclear.

As soon as I have more details, I'll pass them on.

    Activision wants to suck as much money out of everything they do, and cut cost's no matter the cost even destroying what is good.

    The sad thing is, that any negative response, or boycott usually effects the employees at the bottom B4 anything or anyone at the top really feels it, Just another case of the rich trying to get richer, and the middle and lower economic classes getting screwed in the end...

    Bobby Kotick doesn't have his own Sith apprentice to do this for him?

    On-topic comment?

    Business made a bad decision?! I don't believe it.

    /end sarcasm

    Happens everyday where I work. Business is business and whether it makes the right decisions it does make this wonderful world of modern marvels possible. Not that it wouldn't be possible some other way, and better for the difference. But currently, its not.

    Believe in Karma and true justice or ignore it and go on with your life.

    I really hope this doesn't turn out for the worst. If Activision winds up screwing up their biggest cash cow, I say they deserve to go under. Screwing this up could be the worst decision they have ever made. Besides letting the Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero series go to Hell.

    @fatman

    Do thousands of non-blockbuster game company leading people have any bearing on my favorite hobby? No.

    Does this site specialize in delivering information related to my favorite hobby? Yes.

    Bad comparison. He's reporting like a good reporter should. Swordsaint makes a good point. You visiting his various back-to-back reports ticks his counter that says 'good job, people viewed it'.

    In the world wide web the best way you can protest any idea/site/movement is to not support it. If you're really overzealous, maybe get others to not support it.

    Showing interest, even in the form of anti-supportive protesting arguably just furthers the point in question based solely on exposure/popularity. Everything on the internet is graded on popularity and not normally much else.

    If Bobby Kotick is the Anti-Christ then isn't it acceptable to kill him?

    Seriously the world would be better with out Bobby.

    Franchise Lives that Bobby has claimed:

    Guitar Hero
    Tony Hawk
    And now possibly Call of Duty

    @SwordSaint830

    Haha, I actually gave you a +1 on that because you do bring up a good point. I don't have to, and if I see Infinity Ward I don't even need to read it. I guess its not so much the updates as it is the way they are treating it. Updates are always a good thing, it just bugs me to see this much hubbub over 2 people no matter who they are, because do we see update after update about thousands of people getting laid off? no we don't.

    @Fatman, you realize you don't HAVE to come to the website every 5 minutes looking for an update and commenting right? I mean..if you're so upset that they're acting like this is a hostage situation, just..I dunno have some personal accountability and just stop coming to the F'in website?
