Cheats and Walkthroughs

Braid not only took my brain for a weary walk, but it was one of the bigger success stories in the downloadable market. Naturally, gamers are wondering what Braid designer Johnathan Blow is up to next. Blow's next game is called The Witness and he's been revealing bits and pieces about the game through the official development blog, including some concept art.
"For the past 15 years or so, graphics technology in games has been driven by shooters," said Blow in his most recent update. "Most shooters generate visual interest in their scenes by having lots of dynamic lights, with extreme use of bump mapping, and moving shadows, and particle effects. For The Witness, I wanted to develop a graphical style that values simplicity. It would be suited to mellower environments, with both indoor and outdoor settings."
Here's a brief glimpse at where he's going with The Witness.

Aw, through half of this I was thinking (/hoping against hope?) that he was talking about a Shmup (and was with me and the other .04%? of gamers that still don't call FPSs just 'Shooters', ever) and thinking it could be totally awesome (a staircase level!? SWEET!)...>_>

i got the pleasure to meet mr blow in my home state of vermont. it was apart of the art exibit videogames as modern art. he was a fasinating person. while he was there i gt to see some screens of his new game that he is making(or has made). this game looks amazing. it will deffinatily call to the MYST fans and hopefully some new fans of the genra.

Can't wait. Braid was amazing. I'm still astounded that a $15 downloadable game still ranks in my personal 'best ever' list.

Is anyone else getting a "Myst" vibe off of this?

I think its going to be a first person exploration/puzzle game. Its going to feel like a modern Myst-esque type fooly cooly thing.
