All this week, G4 is celebrating the beta release of Starcraft II. To help out lucky beta players, we got Blizzard lead designer Dustin Browder to drop some tips and techniques for the sci-fi real-time strategy game.

In Starcraft II, there are two Vespene geysers instead of one. You'll need to know how and when to harvest the gas. This video will show you how.

I see those USB ports on my xbox dear god why won't they let me plug a mouse in there so I can play RTS properly on my console!!

StarCraft is still the gold standard for RTS, but it was the only game in town a decade ago. Fact is, serious gamers have moved on to the console. PC gamers are busily leveling up their characters in WoW, and SC2 is coming too late to save them.

I was a master at the first Starcraft, so I figured I could just slide right into SC2. However, I got my beta key and played a 1v1 beginner match and got completely destroyed. It's amazing how much you lose from skill decay. The game is still fun as hell, but man i need practice.
