I don't think I'd ever read comics if it wasn't for Fresk Ink. Before Blair I spent soooo much money on crap.
Anyway, Captain Swing was awesome. I've always wanted to see something done in the steampunk tradition with Spring-heel Jack. Seriously. Since forever.

I just want to thank Blair for getting me into comics (I'm choosing to disregard all the Sonic the Hedgehog comics I bought when I was 8). Last year around Free Comic Book Day, I picked up the first trade of The Walking Dead, as you seemed to always be raving about it, and have been buying comics since.

I have been patient, trying to remain spoiler free (which is a task and a half) of Blackest Night, waiting for the trades. I picked up Previews and sweet merciful crap my wallet is in for a rough summer!

Great show as always Blair... you are one of the best comic reviewing personalities out there!! I am impressed (but not surprised) that you buy your own comics... I love that fact! It keeps people from saying, "well she gets them from Company A. or B. so she has to say it's good." I see that love of the medium coming thru every episode, and like I said, it doesn't surprise me that you purchase your own stack every week like the rest of us... I also agree with the Blackest night comment, I got into the series in the beginning, but it just seems to drag a bit, and I personally can't afford to grab every title relating to it.... I'm also looking forward to the next issue of "The Walking Dead"... the pattern you mention has held true so far, and the dread that follows their happy times is always delicious.... Anyways, here's hoping you don't skip a week again anytime soon...

Blair, please tell me you at least write off your comics as a tax deduction. I find it unjust that - at least the big two - comic publishers don't comp you some books, considering all of the free advertising you give them.
You've sold plenty of books for those guys. I KNOW. They're on my shelves and in my short boxes.

Damn! Walking Dead was AMAZING this month. What have our favorite band of survivors stepped into this time? I noticed there was no review for Irredeemable this go round. Well issue #11 was as creepy as it gets. The Plutonian continues to shock month to month. I'm glad to see Scalped was pick of the week. I have not read this series, but have been wanting to check it out. I believe this was the push I needed to give it a shot. A week without Fresh Ink really sucked!!

Good show this time. And yes there are a ton of spin offs of the Blackest Night story. I think you should have mentioned The Flash Rebirth, The All Stars. I am going to check out the Guardians of the Galaxy comic in Trades though. Marvel has a few things going for it. I am also thinking of getting into Nova as well.

Glad to see you back, Blair! And very glad to see a mention of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' on your show again. A great book that many of us Marvel Cosmic fans fear low sales could cause problems for as it did with 'Doctor Voodoo' and 'S.W.O.R.D.' recently, both good series that not enough people gave a chance, I guess, and were canceled.
I think DnA are doing a great job with all of their Marvel Cosmic books, and I particularly love Rocket Raccoon and Groot in GotG.
