The two leading Christian video game companies are merging to create one overwhelmingly holy gaming entity. Left Behind Games, creator of Left Behind: Tribulation Forces and Digital Praise, creator of Guitar Praise and Dance Praise, are joining forces.
"Digital Praise has the four key ingredients that will take our company to the next level," said Left Behind Games CEO Troy Lyndon in a statement. "Those keys are: (1) strong brands and products, (2) multi-channeled distribution, (3) a solid management team and (4) a history of generating millions of dollars in the emerging Christian video game market, a feat no company has matched."
"This merger gives us access to capital that we anticipate will enable us to produce far more new innovative games than we could hope to develop as a privately held company," said Tom Bean, President and CEO of Digital Praise.
Surely, God is pleased and will not visit terrible retribution on the gaming community now.
For now, both companies have only published games for the PC, although we sincerely hope the new entity will make the move to consoles.

I can't wait to see an open-world, gta-style game yet instead of killing people, you can do much more damage - you spread the word of the lord. Can anyone else picture this game flying off of store shelves?

haha i like the picture you always choose when relating to religious articles. it looks more like an alien takeover to me
you should get a picture of jesus playing wii. well, thats probably wrong. he would most definitely own a ps3

Aiming for a money-rich niche with no real competition? These guys would rake it in if they could make anything half decent, but that is as likely as a good movie based on a video game.
Actaully, given how bad the Left Behind books are and how much the author has made, it seems that you don't even have to be half decent to make money from that market.

I took a look at this article headline and instantly knew it was a Stephen Johnson special report. Stephen, if your career at G4 doesn't work out, you could always start your own game news website. A name I would suggest for that website? How about "OGN : Obscure Gaming News"? On that site you can keep everybody up to date on killer whale attacks on people with random gaming ties and all the rumblings in Christian Gaming Development. Give it some thought!

So, something semi original that wasn't very good (the left behind thing) merges with a copy that was pretty good (guitar praise). This could work if they let it, so long as they don't do a left behind music game...

@ BONERJAM - because christians are so understanding of other faiths. they deserve all the venom that is hurled at them and then some. And by the way, I'm not an athiest, I just hate hypocrites and people who push their beliefs on others. If christians would actually follow some of their base teachings like the ten commandments (besides the god stuff all fairly decent rules to live by regardless of faith) and jewels of wisdom like "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" you would have way less people so eager to bash them.
As for this issue as a whole, it's surprising to me that christians, as the single greatest opponent to video games would even create a gaming company let alone 2. I guess I should expect nothing less from the most hypocritical faith on our planet.

Yeah cause guitar praise was so huge....in Albakurke, Oklahoma

I'm sure we are going to hear from smug atheists on this one. I'm not really religious but I grow very tired very quickly of people bashing others people's religious beliefs.
