Christian Games Get Wal-Mart Release

The two leading Christian video game companies are merging to create one overwhelmingly holy gaming entity. Left Behind Games, creator of Left Behind: Tribulation Forces and Digital Praise, creator of Guitar Praise and Dance Praise, are joining forces.

"Digital Praise has the four key ingredients that will take our company to the next level," said Left Behind Games CEO Troy Lyndon in a statement. "Those keys are: (1) strong brands and products, (2) multi-channeled distribution, (3) a solid management team and (4) a history of generating millions of dollars in the emerging Christian video game market, a feat no company has matched."

"This merger gives us access to capital that we anticipate will enable us to produce far more new innovative games than we could hope to develop as a privately held company," said Tom Bean, President and CEO of Digital Praise.

Surely, God is pleased and will not visit terrible retribution on the gaming community now.

For now, both companies have only published games for the PC, although we sincerely hope the new entity will make the move to consoles.

This is rediculous. Most people on here saying that there is no God is fine. That is your belief you have chosen to follow. I am a believer and I believe in a relationship with him and Jesus. It is not about putting money in a basket that gets you to heaven. That is a false statement. What is God going to do with money. He sees no need for it and wants nothing to do with it. The idea in the offering is to show God that you have a relationship with him and that if you have means then it is in his eyes your rightous duty to help those who do not. Money gets you into heaven. Next on my rediculous list is proof. Here is something to remember. Scientists base their proof on a "it" factor. Something causes something to exist. So we still to this day have no REAL proof or "it" as to our existience other than a THEORY of evolution. I stress the word "THEORY". tank4checo, if what u say is true about evidence made through experiments that can be replicated over and over and it then becomes theory, why can't we replicate human evoolution over and over in a lab? All we can say is that we evolved from Apes? We still have some and I know the theory suggests natural selection and these poor apes got passed by. But we can not replicate this so that is not how a theory is based upon. When something is replicated over and over it is a copy. That becomes fact, not a theory. Theories are not considered to be factual in anyway. Besides, is having God in your life really this bad. They are games and that is all. Companies who want to do something other than what the other ones do. I am a Christian and I don't go around screaming God in everyones face. Most if not all of you on here who do not know a thing about Christanity or faith should not simply bash something just to comform. They have every right to pursue this just and anyone does. God made one perfect man and he died for you. In case you don't know but, the one thing God truely does not like and will gurantee you no place in heaven is to deny him. Simple as that. Sins are sins and we are sinners no matter where we are in our faith. But we have forgiveness for the one man who gave his life for us. Would you do that? He is the one man that has more books written about him than any other man in the world. No one, will ever be bigger than him. Just think about it, would you allow yourself to be tortured, whiped and stoned then nailed to a cross and speared for all of man kind?

i guess they didn't get the memo

    MUSIC GAMES AREN'T DOING WELL

seriously if someone wont even pick up Guitar Hero 5 or Rock Band do you think they'll take a swing a Guitar Praise or Bible Hero?

So I guess they want to make more brainwashed minions for their cause? I think they are merging because their games truly suck, and they need money to stay afloat. Just a guess though.

Please Stephen, leave the religious stories alone next time. I know your just doing your job so no flame towards you but this is what happens every time religion is brought up in any way shape or form.

Isn't it funny how people with strong religuous convictions are totally humourless when it comes to their faith?

Mix one part religion & one part atheism in a 13x9 dining room. Splash with two parts bourbon or choice of spirits, & marinate for 3 hours.
    Yields: 1 American family holiday

    @Mr. Stephen Johnson:

    ...

..Surely..you HAD to have known that posting this article (or at the very least, wording the article as you did) would entail, or otherwise inevitably garner, so much controversial debate/argument (or lack of a coherent, accurate/informed one), bordering on Trolling and/or Flaming (between Christians & Non-Christians).
Your choice in terminology on the article (before & after the quotes) even seems to imply such incitement for it, however subtle.

So asides from finding this little piece of news "interesting" & wanting to share with others what you found as interesting (and it being your job to share this),
What was your reason(s) for posting the article??

Were you searching for something in particular - an answer of sorts??
    Conscientious recompense? (Gaming) Absolution?
    ..Just wondering (no mal-intent implied).

Maybe we could all use a little reminder to *NOT Feed the Trolls*.

i do not know of anyone saying nothing caused existence. The big bang theory does not state nothing caused existence, it is unclear what caused the big bang but that does not mean nothing caused it, it is an unknown right now. It is okay to have an unknown, in fact it is goo that means we have something to try to figure out

if a scientist makes a claim he/she better have evidence in order for it to be taken seriously, then if enough evidence is made through experiments that can be replicated over and over in science labs then it can become theory. Theists have the same rules for making such claims

It's good to see more Christians are following the additional commandments that were just discovered:

XI: Thou shalt make glorious profit off of religion

XII (aka, the Republican gold ticket): Thou art free from the moral limitations of the Bible as long as you are acting in God's name. The Bible can still be used as justification.

Come on people think! If it wasn't for Christianity then we wouldn't have Diablo I, II or III

Well we want diversity in gaming and it's 'emerging' I'm sure there's a large sect of the population that want religiously-infused games. It's about enjoyment and if that's what makes someone happy. More power to them.

    tank4checo--
Then the burden of proof is on anyone who makes a claim about origins. There's neither proof nor precedent of something which does not exist doing anything, yet that's the prevailing scientific theory about the origin of the universe. Christians (and other protheists) say someone caused existence to exist; others say that existence began without cause--nothing became something (despite the fact that "to become" is a verb, and all verbs require something represented by a noun to do them, and in nonexistence there is nothing represented by a noun.

In short, you are telling me that nothing did something despite the fact that the chief characteristic of nothing is that it can't do anything because there's no "it" there. Fine. If you want to make such a claim, do so. But the burden of proof is on you.

Secondly, why are so many people on this board getting their panties in a bunch because some games they wouldn't buy might be made available to some people they wouldn't want to play with? I don't play RPGs, and I would have absolutely no emotional investment whatsoever if I heard that two RPG makers were merging. The fact that so many people felt the need to post invective to this thread says more about them than it does about the targets of their ire.

    Tank4checo,

    Here's one for you.

It is the declared intention of atheists to put the burden of proof for the existence of God on the theists. They don't want to be put in the position of having to prove the non-existence of God.

How do you respond to this example?

people can say whatever i want about religion. No one has the right to not be offended. Whats wrong with arguing about religion, debating can be a good thing
