Street Fighter IV iPhone Price And Characters Revealed

iPhone gamers looking for a mobile fight -- that doesn't involve dropped calls. Am I right people? -- will get their chance next month when Capcom releases the port for their acclaimed brawler Street Fighter IV. And thanks to GamePro, we now know a few more important details about the game.

It was previously revealed that franchise top liners Ryu and Ken would be playable, but now we also know that the dynamic duo will be joined by Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, M. Bison and SFIV newcomer, Abel.

Eight fighters, slick visuals, and a new "Dojo" mode can all be yours for just $9.99. Any takers?

What everybody above is complaining, is pretty much the reason that games on apple devices are bad. I mean just look at this thing, it doesn't even though justice to the essence of the game. These game's barely work on consoles, because you actually got a variety of buttons from which you can pull off combos, but the real deal is the arcade. A fighting game does not feel the same whenever you only have two buttons to play with, where is the essence of pulling of a combo? I'm sorry, I don't hate Apple, but this is a joke to a well developed fighting game. It is just not the same when you don't have the peripheral needed to play the game, heck is like playing soccer with a tennis ball, it might be fun at first but soon you'll realize that nothing beats playing it like it's supposed to be played.

I think a great idea for a SF app could be something that supplements the already fantastic console version. Like a mini coach to help perform combos, or at least some better fighting music to cover up that god-awful J-pop they threw in SFIV.

If Apple seriously wants to get into the gaming business they really need to create an add on for the iPhone and iPod Touch that has normal controls.

Alright, this site needs to seriously fix itself. I can't recall how many comments I've posted that never do, videos that never load, replies to comments never post, no cache system so I can go back to copy/paste the lost comment/reply to a new one, as well as get rid of all the excess B/S flash crap that just slows down the painful experience even more.

Even if reducing the amount of bandwidth necessary to access this site is the only change, it'd be a welcome opportunity to make posting on this site that much faster...

Would anybody who is serious at all about fighting games play this?

Would anybody who is serious at all about gaming play something like this?

Would anybody who is serious at all about having fun play something as painfully complicated as using the screen to control as well as view your combat? Games that require a lot of button presses and full use of large screens on the iPhone/iPod Touch are just stupid. If I had time, I'd make a list of the games that should/shouldn't be on the iPhone OS first, then research those games to see how well they sold, and if I'm lucky, I'd find out what kind of demographic was buying them.

Maybe if I cared more about proving this point, but it's still annoying to think that the iPhone is considered a "handheld gaming console" to even one person on this planet.

A good fighting game needs more ability to control than the IPOD would allow. The touch screen does not seem that you could do moves that require fast movements to pull off moves.

Even better, I'll wait for the PSP version, which should have all the characters. Why would I want this neutered version (four buttons, 8 characters)?

I'll wait for Super Street Fighter IV. It'll have new modes and three times the characters and only for 40 bucks.

Not sure if I want to pay $9.99 for a watered down SF experience on my iTouch. Might be a pass.

Pointless. This would inherently be more frustrating and fun simply because of the controls.
