Apple Bans "Sexy" iPhone Apps

Apple Bans

Titillating iPhone applications are generally pretty gross. There's a time and a place for everything, and IMO your phone isn't the place, and riding the bus isn't the time. But I don't think they should be banned. Sadly, I'm not in charge of Apple, because Jobs and Co. are reportedly pulling a ton of applications from iTunes for being too sexy. Mind you, we're not talking hardcore porn here. We're talking apps that featured swimsuit models and the like.

The creator of the Wobble application (a genius-program that adds jiggling functionality to otherwise static images) spoke to Apple, and says they told him the new rules are as follows:

1. No images of women in bikinis (Ice skating tights are not OK either)

2. No images of men in bikinis! (I didn’t ask about Ice Skating tights for men)

3. No skin (he seriously said this) (I asked if a Burqa was OK, and the Apple guy got angry)

4. No silhouettes that indicate that Wobble can be used for wobbling boobs (yes – I am serious...)

5. No sexual connotations or innuendo: boobs, babes, booty, sex – all banned

6. Nothing that can be sexually arousing!! (... those puritanical guys at Apple must get off on pretty mundane things to find Wobble “overtly sexual!")

7. No apps will be approved that in any way imply sexual content (not sure how Playboy is still in the store, but …)

The iPhone and iPod touch already have pretty robust parental controls, so I'm not sure why Apple would make this decision, but welcome to the Brave New World, where the manufacturers of entertainment/information platforms make arbitrary decisions about what content you're mature enough to view.

God knows what evil would happen if I were to look at a hot chick in skater-tights on my iPhone... and what about our nation's beloved beach volleyball players? Can I not look at Misty May on my iPhone? What is the world coming to??

Seems kind of hypocritical coming from a company named after the forbidden fruit. The Apple logo's symbolism itself gives me a raging hard-on.

Something leads me to believe this will cause a surge of jiggly related apps onto android systems. Oh and G4, why is t.i.t. considered profanity I wanted to use that instead of jiggly.

I cannot judge when it is appropriate to look at scantily clad women on my phone. So thank you apple for just telling me it is never acceptable.

Seriously why do american companies have to censor everything. Kids are going to see this stuff anyway all they have to do is google "porn". What's next all the girls have to be fat and ugly to prevent boners. You mean I can walk outside and see a girl in a bikini, but I can't see one on my Ipod touch. Remember the good day's when games could have almost anything in them like conker's bad fur day good time's, good time's. And if the guy who thought it was a good idea to do this is reading my comment I just have one thing to say " #%*& you."

Seriously apple, you make us buy your phone, but you have to have a 3G connection to watch porn of any type? And on AT&T? That contradicts each other. To shame Apple, to shame.

If they wanted to 'protect their interests' so much, why did they have there in the first place?

Aren't there Parental Controls for this? Or just have a section for this! This is just stupid. Another example of excluding the parents from raising their own kids. And for the 'adults' that complained, just don't play it. Simple.

Apples is doing what they have to in-order to "protect" their interest. They want to remain as elite as possible, different from the rest... so they set high standards for themselves and their products. I use this site as reference before you guys finally put a band-aid on the expletives.

P.S.: You can watch Misty May on your I-Phone but you'll have to convert and upload her first, and there are plenty apps for that.
